How Democratic influence can adversely affect your health.

Buried in the back of the business section of today's newspaper was a story that shows how Democrats can adversely affect the quality of your health by exerting political influence. It seems that the Food and Drug Administration has issued an apology for approving a brand of knee implants two years ago that its own scientists had rejected. The FDA overrode the advise of its own scientists for the Menaflex knee implant manufactured by ReGen Biologics, a company based in New Jersey, after four New Jersey Democrats, namely U.S. Reps. Frank Pallone and Steve Rothman and U.S. Senators Robert Menendez and Frank Lautenberg each had lobbied on behalf of ReGen Biologics.

The AP reported that the FDA said it was taking steps to revoke Menaflex's approval because  the implant devise "provides little, if any, benefit to patients."

Menaflex is designed to be reabsorbed into the body and the FDA said most patients won't need to have the devise removed. although it recommends patients should talk to their doctors.

These same Democrats worked to create the Obama Healthcare bill so it can be well assured that similar political influence was in play when the rules and regulations were crafted.
