Did boastful rhetoric dissuade Washington, DC truckers protest?

This was to be a weekend to remember in our Nation's Capitol. On Sunday a group of veterans have planned a Million Veteran March On The Memorials to reclaim the privately funded memorials illegally closed by Barack Hussein Obama. The veterans from WWII, Korea and Vietnam, some of them in wheelchairs, won't be alone. They will have some back up as Belinda Bee the organizer of the Bikers Ride to Washington last month has called for many bikers to return to give them support. Recalling the two-million Tea Party tax protesters who gathered on the National Mall in Washington in 2010 and the one-million bikers (the official estimate by the Washington, D.C. Police) who rode to Washington on September 11, 2013 to counter the Million Muslim non-event that turned out only a dozen Islamic sympathizers, a group of truckers planned a massive drive-through today to clog the Beltway around the Capitol. But one of the truckers organizers made some boastful claims that may have persuaded many others to avoid the conflict.

One of the organizers of the protest, Earl Conlon, was quoted on US News but later retracted his comments.

"We are not going to ask for impeachment," Conlon said. "We are coming whether they like it or not. We're not asking for impeachment, we're asking for the arrest of everyone in government who has violated their oath of office."

Conlon cited the idea of a citizens grand jury – meaning a pool of jurors convened without court approval – as the mechanism for indicting the officials.

"We want these people arrested, and we're coming in with the grand jury to do it," he said. "We are going to ask the law enforcement to uphold their constitutional oath and make these arrests. If they refuse to do it, by the power of the people of the United States and the people's grand jury, they don't want to do it, we will. ... We the people will find a way."

But Steve Nelson, who reported the story wrote: "It's almost certain that anyone attempting to "arrest" a member of Congress would be arrested themselves for attempted kidnapping." While the boastful rhetoric proved to be just that, the accusations made were still true.

Conlon and Andrews say Obama committed "treason" by allegedly funneling weapons to al-Qaida-linked rebels in Syria. Members of Congress who support arming Syrian rebels, Conlon said, are accessories to the alleged crime. He identified House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., as politicians he will seek to arrest for alleged acts against the Constitution.

The Hill reported three days ago that Earl Conlon told The Washington Post that his boastful rhetoric was a ploy to get national attention. “The comments to U.S. News were designed to do one thing and one thing only: stir the feather of the mainstream media,” said Conlon, a father of three. “Nothing gets the attention of the mainstream media like some sort of disastrous threat. I knew it was going to ruffle some feathers.” But the statements about convening a Citizens Grand Jury to indict and arrest members of Congress sounded like a lynch mob and may have been taken seriously by a lot of other truckers who avoided the protest drive to keep out of trouble. Someone should have mentioned to Earl Conlon one rule of automotive mechanics: too much fuel causes a backfire.

A truck driver who called for protesting the government by backing up the Capitol Beltway says he made the threat to attract media attention.

Georgia-based truck driver Earl Conlon, who was behind the group “Truckers for the Constitution,” told The Washington Post he was hoping to use the threat of shutting down the Beltway to highlight the industry's frustration with federal regulations.

So as the weekend progresses we have, as usual, our aging veterans and patriotic bikers left to defend our liberties. God speed to both of these patriotic groups. Our younger generation, at least those who are not serving in our Armed Forces, are still too busy trying to figure our why their "free" ObamaCare healthcare isn't free.

Sarah Palin on a TV talk show, but the substance comes from a 79-year old cancer victim who knows the difference between a government of the people, for the people and by the people - and an elitist ruling class government that thinks only of themselves. This is the letter written by Bill Schoonover, a veteran dying from cancer, to two Washington state Democrats in Congress.

I have tried to live by the rules my entire life. My father was a Command Sergeant Major, U.S. Army, who died of combat related stresses shortly after his retirement. It was he who instilled in me those virtues he felt important - honesty, duty, patriotism and obeying the laws of God and of our various governments. I have served my country, paid my taxes, worked hard, volunteered and donated my fair share of money, time and artifacts.

Today, as I approach my 79th birthday, I am heart-broken when I look at my country and my government. I shall only point out a very few things abysmally wrong which you can multiply by a thousand fold. I have calculated that all the money I have paid in income taxes my entire life cannot even keep the Senate barbershop open for one year! Only Heaven and a few tight-lipped actuarial types know what the Senate dining room costs the taxpayers. So please, enjoy your haircuts and meals on us.

Last year, the president spent an estimated $1.4 billion on himself and his family. The vice president spends $ millions on hotels. They have had 8 vacations so far this year! And our House of Representatives and Senate have become America's answer to the Saudi royal family. You have become the "perfumed princes and princesses" of our country.

In the middle of the night, you voted in the Affordable Health Care Act, a.k.a. "Obama Care," a bill which no more than a handful of senators or representatives read more than several paragraphs, crammed it down our throats, and then promptly exempted yourselves from it, substituting your own taxpayer-subsidized golden health care insurance.

You live exceedingly well, eat and drink as well as the "one percenters," consistently vote yourselves perks and pay raises while making 3.5 times the average U.S. individual income, and give up nothing while you (as well as the president and veep) ask us to sacrifice due to sequestration (for which, of course, you plan to blame the Republicans, anyway).

You understand very well the only two rules you need to know - (1) How to get elected, and (2) How to get re-elected. And you do this with the aid of an eagerly willing and partisan press, speeches permeated with a certain economy of truth, and by buying the votes of the greedy, the ill-informed and under-educated citizens (and non-citizens, too, many of whom do vote) who are looking for a handout rather than a job. Your so-called "safety net" has become a hammock for the lazy. And, what is it now, about 49 or 50 million on food stamps - pretty much all Democratic voters - and the program is absolutely rife with fraud with absolutely no congressional oversight?

I would offer that you are not entirely to blame. What changed you is the seductive environment of power in which you have immersed yourselves. It is the nature of both houses of Congress which requires you to subordinate your virtue in order to get anything done until you have achieved a leadership role. To paraphrase President Reagan, it appears that the second oldest profession (politics), bears a remarkably strong resemblance to the oldest.

As the hirsute first Baron John Emerich Edward Dalberg Acton (1834 - 1902), English historian and moralist, so aptly and accurately stated, "Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Great men are almost always bad men." I'm only guessing that this applies to the female sex as well. Tell me, is there a more corrupt entity in this country than Congress?

While we middle class people continue to struggle, our government becomes less and less transparent, more and more bureaucratic, and ever so much more dictatorial, using Czars and Secretaries to tell us (just to mention a very few) what kind of light bulbs we must purchase, how much soda or hamburgers we can eat, what cars we can drive, gasoline to use and what health care we must buy. Countless thousands of pages of regulations strangle our businesses costing the consumer more and more every day.

As I face my final year, or so, with cancer, my president and my government tell me "You'll just have to take a pill," while you, Senator, your colleagues, the president, and other exulted government officials and their families will get the best possible health care on our tax dollars until you are called home by your Creator, while also enjoying a retirement beyond my wildest dreams, which of course, you voted for yourselves and we pay for.

The chances of you reading this letter are practically zero as your staff will not pass it on, but with a little luck, a form letter response might be generated by them with an auto signature applied, hoping we will believe that you, our senator or representative, has heard us and actually cares. This letter will, however, go online where many others will have the chance to read one person's opinion, rightly or wrongly, about this government, its administration and its senators and representatives.

I only hope that occasionally you might quietly thank the taxpayer for all the generous entitlements which you have voted yourselves, for which, by law, we must pay, unless, of course, it just goes on the $17 trillion national debt for which your children and ours, and your grandchildren and ours, ad infinitum, must eventually try to pick up the tab.

My final thoughts are that it must take a person who has either lost his or her soul, or conscience, or both, to seek re-election and continue to destroy this country I deeply love and put it so far in debt that we will never pay it off, while your lot improves by the minute, because of your power. For you, Senator, will never stand up to the rascals in your House who constantly deceive the American people. And that, my dear Senator, is how power has corrupted you and the entire Congress. The only answer to clean up this cesspool is term limits. This, of course, will kill the goose that lays your golden eggs. And woe be to him (or her) who would dare to bring it up.

COMMON CORE: Prediction, Propaganda or Indoctrination. “the government of United States is currently revisiting” the first 10 amendments to the U.S. Constitution.

  
Common Core is the new push by liberal educators to create a national standard for our classrooms. Apart from the grandiose sounding platitudes, what it actually is designed to do is indoctrinate a generation of our youth into misunderstanding the history of our nation and the function of our government. And it also is redefining what our young people know about our rights. Take, for example, the following workshop instruction on our Constitution being presented by Common Core. We older folk know that the Constitution of the United States is the framework for our government. It contains the assignment of authorities between the Executive, Legislative and Judicial branches of our government known as "the separation of powers". Our Founding Fathers were skeptical of too much power concentrated into the hands of government so they created the first ten amendments called The Bill of Rights. And the Constitution also contains the exact process which allows it to be amended in a precise manner that first involves passing the amendment by 2/3 of both Houses of Congress and then ratification by 3/4 of the State's Legislatures. Common Core apparently wants to create a false impression in the minds of students as to what the Constitution is and what it is not so that these misinformed youth will be ignorant of the facts when they get old enough to vote.

The story originated on the web site EAG News about a school in Bryant, Arkansas that handed out a worksheet to students that contains this quote: “the government of United States is currently revisiting” the first 10 amendments to the U.S. Constitution. Because, it was reported, "the Constitution is outdated". There is nothing in the worksheet that informs the students of the correct process to amend the Constitution making it appear that those "outdated" rights in The Bill of Rights can be taken away by a simple act of Congress or even by some tyrannical leader's Executive Order. Well, America: if you thought the people behind the Common Core couldn’t possibly be any more moronic or tone deaf, you were wrong.

A Common Core worksheet handed out this year in a sixth-grade history class in Bryant, Ark. required students to ditch two amendments from the Bill of Rights, reports EAGnews.org. Students were also told to plug their rights eliminations by creating “a visual aid that could act as a clear representation of your proposal.”

EAGnews says the assignment is part of the Common Core State Standards Initiative, an attempt by educrats to standardize various K-12 curricula across the country. This fall, 45 states and the District of Columbia have begun implementing the curriculum.

This is from the same Democrat-controlled government that occupies itself with publishing images of Barack Hussein Obama surrounded by a halo as if he really was some messianic personification.

Our Founding Fathers must be turning over in their graves. When they formed our government they briefly debated having our country run by a King and offered the position to George Washington but the experience with the King of England convinced them to discard the idea.  In their wildest dreams they could never have imagined a political party like the Democrats trying to turn the elected office of president into a deity and a country run by Executive Orders.

The death of democracy in America.

  

Democracy <noun> has many meanings, some good, some bad. Our Founding Fathers despised the word and for what it stood for and did not mention it once in either The Declaration of Independence or in the Constitution of the United States. Instead, the chose to build the framework of our nation upon the principles of a Republic, a Constitutional Republic, a nation of laws. Aside from the darker meanings of the word democracy which has included references to mob rule, as in lynch mobs, democracy has come to be known as a two party political system. Leaving out the fringe third-party groups for the moment, that leaves us with Republicans and Democrats. And our democratically <adverb> elected government.

Thanks to the unending efforts of the Democrats, the party that derived its name from the word democracy, America will soon become a single party system just as soon as the Democrats push through their immigration reforms and legalize several tens of millions of grateful illegal immigrant workers who already crowd our shores and utilize our welfare programs, our over-taxed public schools and our medical system.

This will soon be true because according to a recent Pew Research Center survey, while 43% of American voters identify themselves with the Republican Party, 48% identify themselves with the Democrats. Add to the mix a large number of newly minted voters who are expected to show enormous gratitude to the party that grants them citizenship and the percentages of voters will be spread much further apart. Should amnesty and immigration reform become law, it is estimated that the legislative branch of government will become solidly Democrat for many decades to come. And just as WalMart uses its enormous size and clout to stifle its local competition so will the Democrats effectively dominate most state and local elections.

In our nation's capitol the push for immigration reform has turned into a Zombie-like pandemic with several not so conservative Republicans believing that if they don't support amnesty it will make those presently illegal immigrants hostile toward the Republican Party for not giving them what they want.     Thousands of supporters of an immigration overhaul held rallies on Saturday at more than 150 sites in 40 states, trying to pressure Congress, despite the partisan turmoil in Washington, to focus on passing a pathway to citizenship for millions of immigrants here illegally.

    Hoping to display the wide reach of their movement, advocates held larger rallies in immigrant strongholds like Los Angeles, San Diego and Boston, with smaller demonstrations in places where immigrant groups have grown recently, including Atlanta; Rogers, Ark.; and Yakima, Wash. Organizers described the events, and a large rally they have planned for Tuesday on the National Mall in Washington, as their major show of force this year.

    On what they called a “National Day of Immigrant Dignity and Respect,” supporters said more than 50,000 people had turned out nationwide. But the demonstrations came when few lawmakers on Capitol Hill were thinking about immigration, with the federal government shut down and the House of Representatives locked in a feud with President Obama and Democrats over health care and debt funding.

    Even while advocates have built up their strength — with a broad coalition of business, labor, religious and law enforcement groups calling for a comprehensive bill — they fear that momentum is slipping away for Congress to act this year.

John Boehner needs to go – yesterday. This proves everything we have been saying forever. In an effort to tear the GOP apart (and it is working), the Progressive Dems have leaked emails written by House Speaker John Boehner’s Chief of Staff, Mike Sommers. Turns out, Boehner has been supposedly coordinating with Senate Majority and head weasel Harry Reid to exempt Congress from Obamacare. Can you believe this crap? Look, I don’t care that the emails were leaked yesterday by Reid Chief of Staff David Krone, who has a penchant for dirty tricks like this. Boehner is now really exposed for the dirty dealings we all knew he was up to, but could not prove. We hate both sides of the aisle with good reason.

The Blaze:

The leaks, which are a major taboo in Washington, show Boehner (R-Ohio) worked behind the scenes earlier this year to address confusion over a provision in the Affordable Care Act that would force members of Congress and their aides into the exchanges. In fact, if one were to go by the leaks, which were first published by Politico, it appears that the offices of Boehner and Reid regularly coordinated to exempt Congress from the health care law.

But given that Boehner is now apparently against congressional Obamacare exemptions, the emails make him look inconsistent and hypocritical – which may have been the point of their leaking.

Boehner and the rest of his ‘Progressives on the Right’ posse have sold us out. He needs to have his arse handed to him and his tanning privileges revoked. I knew this politico was in bed with Obama when they became golfing buddies. Disgusting and enough to make blood shoot from my eyes.

[B]ehind-the-scenes, Boehner and his aides worked for months with Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.), House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer (D-Md.), and others, to save these very same, long-standing [congressional Obamacare] subsidies, according to documents and e-mails provided to POLITICO. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) was also aware of these discussions, the documents show.

NRO even reported that Boehner and his toadies were collaborating to arrange a meeting on this carve out disguised as a meeting on illegal immigration. Lies, deceit, sleight of hand and manipulation – where are those damned tar and feathers?

“We can’t let it get out there that this is for [Boehner] and [Reid] to ask the President to carve us out of the requirement of Obamacare,” Boehner chief of staff Mike Sommers wrote on July 17.

“This is a little bit more difficult because it isn’t a routing meeting because [House Minority Leader Nancy] Pelosi and [Senate Minority Leader Mitch] McConnell won’t be there,” he wrote. “I am even ok if it is the President hauling us down to talk about the next steps on immigration.”

About 1.5 seconds after this came out, the GOP right on cue started whining and proclaiming that these emails were mischaracterized. Really? That’s the best you’ve got? Actually, I think they are mischaracterized. They are worse than they look by a whole lot. You betcha.

A Republican aide called David Krone “a low-rent, self-dealing bagman.” And that they could never deal with him again. Well, you better say the same about Boehner and the Progressives on the right. All of them are despicable. Because Boehner is a double dealing, two-faced, sleaze bucket and is not clean, the Dems have leverage and can use this crap against him and the GOP. Duh. The slimy bastard Krone went on to proclaim:

In a statement to National Review Online, Krone defended himself: “Every time one of these anonymous Republican aides takes a look at their paycheck, I hope they remember it was Harry Reid who protected their employer contribution.”

“They and their bosses are welcome to return it if they’re so outraged. I took the action I did because I refuse to stand by and watch those who pressed for this ruling turn around and attack the very thing they asked for, simply because they don’t have the courage to stand up to a few whiners in their caucus. Integrity means owning in public what you advocate for in private,” Krone said.

This is just the latest greatest piece of offal that Boehner has been caught rolling in. Don’t forget that there were earlier allegations that he advised the White House in September on how to win Republican votes for U.S. military action in Syria. Speaker of the House, my ass. He’s the Speaker of the Ruling Marxist Class and we all know how that ends throughout history.

I couldn’t agree with Glenn Beck more on this:

“This is officially my snapping point. I have had it with John Boehner. I have thought he was not a good guy for a very long time. Not on our side. We all know that. We all know that,” an exasperated Glenn said. “But there’s a difference between not a good guy – not on your side – and somebody who is knifing you in the back. I want to make it very, very clear, John Boehner is knifing you in the back. And there’s no two ways about it.”

“Now remember, there’s no way for a Republican to get away with saying, ‘I know you have to join Obamacare, but we’re not going to.’ That was one of the things: Make Congress abide by their own laws. Make them feel the pain that they have inflicted on all of us in every shape and form. Make them abide by the same laws.”

“So, here is the letter. He writes, or his chief of staff writes to Harry Reid about how they have to get into see the President to save the Congressional subsidies. They need to see the President and do some backroom, off the record, deal,” Glenn explained. “John Boehner’s chief of staff writes, we can’t let it get out there that this is for Boehner and Reid to carve out the requirement of Obamacare. Got it? We can’t let it get out. We have to find some way to get them to the President, quoting, ‘I am even okay if the President is hauling us down to talk about the next steps on immigration. I really don’t care what we say it’s about. It just can’t be about what we know it’s about.’ End quote.”

“Let me ask the Republicans. Are you as dumb as the Democrats have been because the Democrats allowed the progressives to take over their party,” Glenn said. “Republicans, the evidence is here. John Boehner is a lying thief. He is trying to portray himself as something he is not. You now have the evidence of his chief of staff in bed with Harry Reid saying, ‘Can we bury this? Can’t we just make this happen? Can’t we just keep the subsidies for us while we pretend to fight against them?’ So now it’s up to you. You have the information.”

“I guarantee you, John Boehner would step down today, if the big donors would actually come to the plate today and say, ‘I’ve given my last dime to the Republican Party until john Boehner steps down – not as speaker of the house – but resigns. Until that happens, you don’t get a dime from me. Not one dime from me,’” Glenn said. “If everybody who has ever given any money would call their congressman and call GOP Headquarters and say, ‘Don’t you ever ask me for a dime. Don’t you ever send me an email. Don’t you do it.’ There’s step one: #DefundTheGOP.”

“I’m pretty good at predicting the future. I’m pretty good at seeing the trends. If you don’t come off of this road now, you are going to have a GOP that is just like the Democrats. And your choice will then be Chris Christie or Hilary Clinton. Which one you want? I don’t want either of them,” Glenn said. “You want a real choice? Good. Right now you can have that. If everybody got on the phone, everybody called John Boehner, Everybody called their representative and said, ‘I’m done with you. You know, you are a good representative but unless you can convince him, you are going to have to step out of your party. I won’t give any of you another dime.’”

“You are a steward of your money. You are supposed to do the right thing. Do you really believe giving your money to the GOP and to John Cornyn and to John Boehner to have them decide who is going to protect the Republican freedom [is the right choice],” Glenn asked. “I ask you to pray on it. Do you really think that’s the way to go? These guys are a knife in the back. Not a dime from me. #DefundTheGOP.”

Boehner got caught with his orange paw in the Obamacare cookie jar. Bad Progressive GOP, bad… The Republicans have allowed themselves to be overrun by Progressives – infiltrated and conquered. Gut the Progressive GOP. Turn towards the Cruz Coalition and the Tea Party. #DefundTheGOP.

While our liberal news media is now spewing out false and misleading propaganda about the glorious new Affordable Care Act, the media is still covering up the dirty details about the healthcare plan that most Americans will soon become shockingly aware of. The worst detail is in the enormous deductibles that will make this Socialized Medicine scheme unaffordable to most of the poor and middle-class. The ACA, known to all as ObamaCare, was ramrodded through Congress in 2009 by the Democratic Party when they enjoyed an absolute one-party majority. At least one elected official in Washington is telling the truth but his questions won't be headlined on the 6 o'clock news.

Officials who implemented the law should not escape its pain

Earlier this week, in an effort led by Sen. Ted Cruz, some of my Republican colleagues and I took to the Senate floor with the intent of making Washington listen. The American people have made it abundantly clear that they do not want Obamacare. In fact, a majority of elected officials, the same officials that voted to implement this health care mandate, do not want it, either.

Last summer, in a 5-4 decision authored by Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr., the Supreme Court wrongly concluded that Obamacare’s individual mandate could stand. As a consequence of the court’s ruling, starting on Oct. 1, whether they want it or not, Americans will be compelled to purchase a government-mandated product — health insurance — or pay a tax.

What should infuriate you the most is the fact that the same elected officials who implemented this mandate have recently declared themselves exempt from it. That is to say, these officials are forcing you to partake in something that they themselves are refusing. If Obamacare is so great, why then are federal employees and elected officials getting special treatment and opting out?

If President Obama, Rep. Nancy Pelosi, Sen. Harry Reid and Chief Justice Roberts love Obamacare so much, they should live under it. Their actions speak louder than words, and it is erroneous for these leaders to even attempt to claim that Obamacare is a step forward for Americans.

And it ought to be pointed out that in addition to most of the politicians in Washington asking for and getting exemptions and subsidies from ObamaCare, many of the labor unions that helped get Obama elected are also asking for the same. And major corporations are taking advantage of one of the loopholes in the ACA by reducing employee work hours to below 30 hours a week thus changing their classification from full-time to part-time so they don't have to provide any healthcare.

And then of course there are the lies and misleading statements that have come out from the same Democrats who pushed this legislation through. Most glaringly are the infamous statements from Barack Hussein Obama about how certain we could expect to keep our existing healthcare insurance policy. Now, even the official government web site is rewriting their bold claims.

Obamacare Website Quietly Deletes Reference to 'Free Health Care'

Even as President Obama and his administration are making a last minute push to encourage enrollment in Obamacare, a quiet change was made on the Healthcare.gov website regarding those who will still not be able to afford coverage after the program kicks in. From at least June 26, 2013 to as recently as September 15, under the topic, "Where can I get free or low-cost care in my community?" the following statement appeared: "If you can't afford any health plan, you can get free or low-cost health and dental care at a nearby community health center." Here is how the page in question appeared:

However, sometime between September 16 and September 23, the reference to "free" care was dropped. The title of the topic was changed as well, and now reads: "Where can I get low-cost care in my community?" Here is how the page currently appears:

The page in question is not a new one, as the webpage's Internet address remains the same, still containing the word "free": www.healthcare.gov/where-can-i-get-free-or-low-cost-care/.  However, there is no notation anywhere on the page that it was revised; the change just appeared unannounced. 

Other changes include dropping references to "dental" care and the availability of "prescription drugs," as well as exchanging the phrase "specialized care for more serious conditions" for the milder "referrals to specialized care."

Since President Obama has been emphasizing of late how inexpensive Obamacare will be for many Americans, advertising the availability of "free" health care might have been viewed as a deterrent to purchasing even the least expensive option from the government-run exchanges. Since the "bronze" and "silver" level plans that the president has recently been touting as equaling "the cost of your cable bill" and "less than your cell phone bill" will still entail significant out-of-pocket costs for medical care, "free" might still look more attractive to many on the lower end of the income scale. It may be that community health centers will still offer free care to some, but visitors to Healthcare.gov will no longer be made aware of the option.

The train wreck is about to happen.

Ohio Mom teams-up with Thomas More Law Center to force the school to remove an Islamic proselytizing video from her son’s 7th Grade History Class.

To all parents, read your children’s History/Social Studies books and ask then exactly what they are being taught about Islam in school. If you don’t like what you see/hear, get a group of parents together and raise Hell with the school board. Then, threaten a lawsuit 

Thomas More  The Olmsted Falls City School District, located in Olmsted Falls, Ohio has agreed to remove the video “30 Days: Muslim and America” from the 7thgrade World History Curriculum.  The action was taken to avoid a constitutional challenge by the Thomas More Law Center (TMLC), a national public interest law firm, in Ann Arbor, Michigan, which filed a series of requests for public records concerning the video on behalf of Jenny McKeigue, a mother of three children who attend schools within the district.  

McKeigue first became concerned about the history curriculum in 2011 when her son, then in 7th grade, was required to memorize the 5 Pillars of Islam.  

After a deeper look into the 7^th grade history curriculum, McKeigue became concerned about the content of the “Muslims and America” video to which the school had exposed her son.   She asked the School District to remove the video from the curriculum and replace it with an objective video relevant to the history of Islam, not one that taught children how to become a Muslim. Her request was denied.  Subsequently, Mrs. McKeigue began the escalation process to the Superintendent and the School Board.

After over a year and a half of denied requests for information, including requests for the class syllabus, from the School District, McKeigue reached out to the Thomas More Law Center for assistance. TMLC agreed to help.  Ohio attorney Michael S. Goldstein acted as an affiliated local counsel.

The questionable video features a Christian (Dave) agreeing to embrace the religion of Islam and the Muslim culture by living with a Muslim family for 30 days in Dearborn, Michigan.  Dave was required to live, dress and eat as a Muslim, study the Koran daily and participate in Muslim prayer. The video features several instances of Muslim prayer and even a look at a “how to pray in Islam” sheet complete with Dave practicing how to pray and reciting lines such as “I testify that there is no God other than the Almighty” and “I testify that Mohammad is the messenger of God.”

The video is also set up in a manner that portrays non-Muslims as uneducated bigots and Muslims as persecuted victims. At one point in the video, 7th grade students are told that if they hear someone say something wrong about Islam, it is their responsibility to fix it.

The video was being used as a part of the Ohio 7^th Grade Social Studies Standards Expectations for Learning which requires students to “describe achievements by the Islamic civilization and how these achievements were introduced into Western Europe in the time period between 750 BC – 1600AD.” As such, “Muslims and America” is clearly irrelevant to Ohio Social Studies Standards.

Mrs. McKeigue felt the video, in addition to being irrelevant, also violated several Board Policies with regard to the promotion of religion in the classroom and the fair representation of all ethnic and religious groups. Additionally, she questioned the accuracy of the video as well as the applied double standard as no other video was shown nor instruction given demonstrating how to perform the religious exercises of other religions.

In response to McKeigue’s criticism, the school district invited Olmsted Falls pastors to review the video.  To the school district’s chagrin, several pastors agreed with McKeigue and also questioned the accuracy of the video.  Dr. Todd Hoadley, school superintendent at the time, disregarded their concerns.  At a March 2013 Board meeting, and in private conversations, he defended the video with the astonishing argument that the inaccuracies of the video proved its value.

Richard Thompson. President and Chief Counsel of the TMLC commented: “Teachers may not constitutionally show video tapes that violate the neutrality they must maintain toward religion or that engages in religious instruction. Showing “Muslims and America” violated those principles and the Establishment Clause of our Constitution.  Under the guise of teaching the history of Islam to seventh graders, history teachers were proselytizing students to the Islamic faith. 

Although I applaud the school district for resolving this issue without litigation, I was disappointed to discover internal communications from one history teacher ridiculing and disparaging Mrs. McKeigue, and even suggesting she should be fired from her part time job as alumni director for the school because of her criticism of the video.”

Not only by filibuster, but by action and deed. A President who fancies himself a god, does indeed feel a very human chill crawl up his spine. That trickle he feels is the Tea Party rising.

And the President is not alone. Americans have had enough of the spineless, Progressive cowards on the right. From WND:

WASHINGTON — Following the epic, 21-hour speech by Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, supporting the defunding of Obamacare, either voters made so many calls to establishment Republicans that their phone lines melted, or those GOP leaders took their phones off the hook.

Even in this age of digital wizardry and limitless voicemail, callers could not get through at all to Sen. Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky.

A message said the senator was experiencing a high volume of calls and directed members of the public to call back later or visit his website.

It was the same story with the man who was the face of the GOP in the 2008 elections, former GOP presidential candidate Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz.

His phone was off the hook, too. Callers got a message stating his voicemail box was full.

The Arizona senator apparently had other matters on his mind during the Cruz speech, tweeting, “Final episode of #Broadchurch tonight – one of the most entertaining shows on TV right now.”

That prompted conservative commentator Michelle Malkin to tweet, “Meanwhile, McCain is tweeting about a TV show. See the problem here, America?”

Oh, we see the problem alright. And that problem spans both sides of the political aisle and has ‘elitist’ written all over it. No one points it out better than Ann Coulter:

Obamacare is an unmitigated disaster.

It was passed illegally without the House ever voting on the Senate bill and became law absent a single Republican vote — even “the girls from Maine” and “the girl from Arizona” — the only major legislation ever enacted on a strict party-line vote. The Supreme Court had to violate the Constitution’s separation of powers to uphold Obamacare as a “tax” — despite the fact that no elected body could ever have enacted such a massive tax hike even with the sleazy parliamentary tricks used to pass this bill.

Proving that everyone hates it, Congress has now exempted itself from Obamacare’s provisions, having asked for, and received, a waiver from President Obama.

Yes, these are the exact same politicians who lecture us that Obamacare is “the law of the land!” (So are our immigration laws.) The same ones who huffily announce that the Supreme Court upheld it! (The court also upheld the First Amendment in Citizens United, but that doesn’t stop Obama from demanding Congress overturn the First Amendment.) They are the same sanctimonious frauds who tell us that Obamacare is “the right thing to do!”

Those guys waived Obamacare for themselves. If national health care is so great, why don’t they want it?

The Progressive Right despises regular Americans. They feel, as do the Leftists, that they are above us. Better and smarter than us. Case in point — Peter King:

Rep. Peter King, who has pulled no punches in criticizing Ted Cruz, said Thursday that supporters of the Texas senator have been bombarding his office with “vile” phone calls.

The New York Republican has called Cruz a fraud for his calls to defund Obamacare, and said the senator’s campaign this summer to get the House to pass a government funding bill that defunds the health care law led to some offensive phone calls to King’s office.

Awww… Did the itty, bitty Progressive on the Right get his feelings hurt? Does he feel dirty having to deal with Conservatives and the Tea Party? You sir, are what is vile and what is wrong with our political system. You are the fraud, not Cruz. Prepare to get a whole lot more offended King. We’re just getting warmed up.

Ted Cruz was speaking for Americans — in defense of Americans, our rights and our way of life. He was doing what he was sent there to do. He did the right thing, the courageous thing, the American thing.

Stand tall and fight in the shade America. Obamacare may become a fact of life, but our fight has just begun. Can’t you just feel the earth shake in DC as the Senate’s Leonidas calls American Spartans to battle?

Some things?! You’ve got to be kidding me… This is not just a train wreck, it is an absolute horror story for each and every family in America. While the elites have made sure they have exemptions, the rest of us are going to be ground into the dust of poverty. We are about to be literally taxed to death. I feel sick — too bad I won’t be able to see a doctor about that.

Here is a partial list of things to come — from Americans for Tax Reform:

And by “some things,” he means uninsured families, medical devices, workplace flex accounts, small businesses, Health Savings Accounts, savings income…

Starting in tax year 2013:

• Obamacare Medical Device Tax: Medical device manufacturers employ 409,000 people in 12,000 plants across the country. Obamacare imposes a new 2.3 percent excise tax on gross sales – even if the company does not earn a profit in a given year. In addition to killing small business jobs and impacting research and development budgets, this will make everything from pacemakers to artificial hips more expensive. 

• Obamacare High Medical Bills Tax: Before Obamacare, Americans facing high medical expenses were allowed a deduction to the extent that those expenses exceeded 7.5 percent of adjusted gross income (AGI). Obamacare now imposes a threshold of 10 percent of AGI. Therefore, Obamacare not only makes it more difficult to claim this deduction, it widens the net of taxable income. 

• Obamacare Flexible Spending Account Tax: The 30 – 35 million Americans who use a pre-tax Flexible Spending Account (FSA) at work to pay for their family’s basic medical needs face a new Obamacare cap of $2,500. This will squeeze $13 billion of tax money from Americans over the next ten years. (Before Obamacare, the accounts were unlimited under federal law, though employers were allowed to set a cap.) Now, a parent looking to sock away extra money to pay for braces will find themselves quickly hitting this new cap, meaning they would have to pony up some or all of the cost with after-tax dollars. 

• Obamacare Super Saver Surtax: A new, 3.8 percent surtax on investment income earned in households making at least $250,000 ($200,000 single). 

• Obamacare Medicare Payroll Tax Increase: First $200,000 ($250,000 Married) Employer/Employee — 1.45%/1.45%, 2.9% self-employed. All Remaining Wages Employer/Employee — 1.45%/2.35%, 3.8% self-employed. And increase of .9%. 

Starting in tax year 2014:

• Obamacare Individual Mandate Non-Compliance Tax: Starting in 2014, anyone not buying “qualifying” health insurance – as defined by President Obama’s Department of Health and Human Services — must pay an income surtax to the IRS. The Congressional Budget Office recently estimated that six million American families will be liable for the tax, and as pointed out by the Associated Press: “Most would be in the middle class.” 

(Delayed by Obama to 2015):

• Obamacare Employer Mandate Tax: If an employer does not offer health coverage, and at least one employee qualifies for a health tax credit, the employer must pay an additional non-deductible tax of $2,000 for all full-time employees. This provision applies to all employers with 50 or more employees. If any employee actually receives coverage through the exchange, the penalty on the employer for that employee rises to $3,000. If the employer requires a waiting period to enroll in coverage of 30-60 days, there is a $400 tax per employee ($600 if the period is 60 days or longer). 

• Obamacare Tax on Health Insurers: Annual tax on the industry imposed relative to health insurance premiums collected that year. The tax phases in gradually until 2018. Fully imposed on firms with $50 million in profits. 

Starting in tax year 2018:

• Obamacare Tax on Union Member and Early Retiree Health Insurance Plans: Obamacare imposes a new 40 percent excise tax on high cost or “Cadillac” health insurance plans, effective in 2018. This tax increase will most directly affect union families and early retirees, who are likely to be covered by such plans. This Obamacare tax will be levied on insurance policies whose premiums exceed $10,200 for an individual and $27,500 for a family. Middle class union members tend to be covered by such plans in states like Ohio, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Michigan. Higher threshold ($11,500 single/$29,450 family) for early retirees and high-risk professions. CPI +1 percentage point indexed.

This doesn’t include all the massive paperwork and fines that are to come. Buckle up and get ready to experience Obamacare and all its taxes.
