ACT! for America on Koran burning.

An email bulletin from ACT! for America:
Andrew McCarthy, the lead prosecutor in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing who was a featured speaker at last year’s ACT! for America national conference, writes an interesting commentary below (highlights added) on the recent burning of the Koran by Terry Jones.

You can also listen here to ACT! for America president Brigitte Gabriel discuss the issue of how our troops are required to handle the Koran.

Here at ACT! for America, we agree with McCarthy’s observation that burning the Koran is counterproductive. We don’t think burning a book to make a point advances one’s cause.
Having said that, we strongly disagree with those like Senator Lindsay Graham who say such actions must be prevented because they will lead to violence in the Muslim world. What’s next? Telling newspapers they can’t print the Mohammed cartoons because that will lead to violence in the Muslim world? Where does such appeasement end?
As we see in Europe and the UK, it doesn’t.

More On Koran Burning

By Andrew C. McCarthy

Jonah, my problem with the Koran burning stunt is that it is counterproductive. I hear what you’re saying about decency. But on that score, I don’t find the burning any more offensive in principle than I do its opposite extreme: the bizarro hyper-reverence with which the Koran is handled by the Defense Department.

Down at Gitmo, the Defense Department gives the Koran to each of the terrorists even though DoD knows they interpret it (not without reason) to command them to kill the people who gave it to them. To underscore our precious sensitivity to Muslims, standard procedure calls for the the book to be handled only by Muslim military personnel. Sometimes, though, that is not possible for various reasons. If, as a last resort, one of our non-Muslim troops must handle or transport the book, he must wear white gloves, and he is further instructed primarily to use the right hand (indulging Muslim culture’s taboo about the sinister left hand). The book is to be conveyed to the prisoners in a “reverent manner” inside a “clean dry towel.” This is a nod to Islamic teaching that infidels are so low a form of life that they should not be touched (as Ayatollah Ali Sistani teaches, non-Muslims are “considered in the same category as urine, feces, semen, dead bodies, blood, dogs, pigs, alcoholic liquors,” and “the sweat of an animal who persistently eats [unclean things].”

This is every bit as indecent as torching the Koran, implicitly endorsing as it does the very dehumanization of non-Muslims that leads to terrorism. Furthermore, there is hypocrisy to consider: the Defense Department now piously condemning Koran burning is the same Defense Department that itself did not give a second thought to confiscating and burning bibles in Afghanistan.
Quite consciously, U.S. commanders ordered this purge in deference to sharia proscriptions against the proselytism of faiths other than Islam. And as General Petraeus well knows, his chain of command is not the only one destroying bibles. Non-Muslim religious artifacts, including bibles, are torched or otherwise destroyed in Islamic countries every single day as a matter of standard operating procedure. (See, e.g., my 2007 post on Saudi government guidelines that prohibit Jews and Christians from bringing bibles, crucifixes, Stars of David, etc., into the country — and, of course, not just non-Muslim accessories but non-Muslim people are barred from entering Mecca and most of Medina, based on the classical interpretation of an injunction found in what Petraeus is fond of calling the Holy Qur’an (sura 9:28: “Truly the pagans are unclean . . . so let them not . . . approach the sacred mosque”).

I don’t like book burning either, but I think there are different kinds of book burnings. One is done for purposes of censorship — the attempt to purge the world of every copy of a book to make it as if the sentiments expressed never existed. A good modern example is Cambridge University Press’s shameful pulping of all known copies of Alms for Jihad (see Stanley’s 2007 post on that). The other kind of burning is done as symbolic condemnation. That’s what I think Terry Jones was doing. He knows he doesn’t have the ability to purge the Koran from the world, and he wasn’t trying to. He was trying to condemn some of the ideas that are in it — or maybe he really thinks the whole thing is condemnable.

This is a particularly aggressive and vivid way to express disdain, but I don’t know that it is much different in principle from orally condemning some of the Koran’s suras and verses. Sura 9 of the Koran, for example, states the supremacist doctrine that commands Muslims to kill and conquer non-Muslims (e.g., 9:5: “But when the forbidden months are past, then fight and slay the pagans wherever ye find them, and seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem (of war) . . .”; 9:29: “Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the last day, nor hold forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the Religion of Truth, from among the people of the Book [i.e., the Jews and Christians], until they pay the jizya [i.e., the tax paid for the privilege of living as dhimmis under the protection of the sharia state] with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued”). I must say, I’ve got a much bigger problem with the people trying to comply with those commands than with the guy who burns them.

I think the big problem with what Jones did is the gratuitous insult to all Muslims, including the millions who do not subscribe to the violent jihadist or broader Islamist construction of Islamic scripture. They have found some way to rationalize the incendiary scriptures — and if it works for them, who the hell am I to say they’re wrong? They are our natural allies in this battle, and as I’ve often pointed out, without their help, we could not have done things like infiltrate the Blind Sheikh’s terror cell, gather vital intelligence, thwart terrorist attacks, and refine trial evidence into compelling proof.

These people regard the Koran as the most important of their scriptures. When someone burns the Koran in an act of indiscriminate, wholesale condemnation, the message to them is that their belief system is incorrigible. Freedom of speech means that we have to allow that argument to be made, and I’m not entirely sure it’s wrong. But good Muslim people give us reason to hope that what ails Islam can be reformed. I don’t see the upside in alienating those people. I think you can condemn the condemnable aspects of the Koran without condemning everything. But that’s just my opinion, and Mr. Jones is as entitled to his as I am to mine. And for what it’s worth, I doubt my opinion would be much more popular than his in Mazar-e-Sharif.

Poking fun at phony politicians. Humor is the best method of reducing stress.

Got this today in an email and the author is unknown. This joke pulls together several elements that have combined to drag down our society.

Good One!!! LOL Splinters in Her Crotch!

A woman from Los Angeles who was a tree hugger, a liberal Democrat, and an anti-hunter, purchased a piece of timberland near Colville, WA. There was a large tree on one of the highest points in the tract. She wanted a good view of the natural splendor of her land, so she started to climb the big tree. As she neared the top she encountered a spotted owl that attacked her. In her haste to escape, the woman slid down the tree to the ground and got many splinters in her crotch. In considerable pain, she hurried to a local ER to see a doctor. She told him she was an environmentalist, a democrat, and an anti-hunter and how she came to get all the splinters. The doctor listened to her story with great patience and then told her to go wait in the examining room and he would see if he could help her. She sat and waited three hours before the doctor reappeared. The angry woman demanded, "What took you so long?" He smiled and then told her, "Well, I had to get permits from the Environmental Protection Agency, the Forest Service, and the Bureau of Land Management before I could remove old-growth timber from a "recreational area" so close to a waste treatment facility. I'm sorry, but due to Obama Care they turned me down."

Words, Words! WORDS!!! All talk and no action.

Words come in many different forms. I am thinking about threats, lies and promises and wisdom. Some words are uttered by wise philosophers and other words are uttered by charlatans, con men and snake oil salesmen. Mostly, the latter are comprised of politicians. I have several favorite words of wisdom that help keep my mind on important issues that I would like to share. Some of them come from known sources and some do not.

"Those who don't learn from their mistakes are doomed to repeat them." A modern version of this with a humorous twist is, "Everyone makes mistakes. Only a fool makes the same one twice. An idiot repeats them over and over again."

From the writings of the political satirist Al Capp who also created the "Li'l Abner' 'Daisey Mae' comic strip in the 1940's and '50's. Wikipedia notes that: "Li'l Abner was censored for the first, but not the last time in September 1947, and was pulled from papers by Scripps-Howard. The controversy, as reported in Time, centered on Capp's portrayal of the United States Senate. Said Edward Leech of Scripps, "We don't think it is good editing or sound citizenship to picture the Senate as an assemblage of freaks and crooks... boobs and undesirables."

In the 1960s, Capp's politics swung from liberal to conservative, and instead of caricaturing big business types, he began spoofing counterculture icons such as Joan Baez (in the character of "Joanie Phoanie," a wealthy folksinger who offers an impoverished orphanage one million dollars' worth of "protest songs". He also attacked student political groups, such as the Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) as "Students Wildly Indignant About Nearly Everything" (SWINE).

In the late 1960's Al Capp wrote a column for the New York Daily News syndicate on political satire and I recall the substance of one of his most famous quotes: "A Liberal is a Conservative who hasn't been mugged yet." but I cannot find the exact words he used. There is another variation of this quote that was attributed to Frank Rizzo, former Mayor of Philadelphia who said: "Do you know what a conservative is? That's a liberal who got mugged the night before"

My all time favorite quote is from a liberal who once candidly boasted of the true nature of things in Congress. The very liberal Senator Hugh Scott of Pennsylvania boasted to a reporter one day: "(Liberals] get the action and the Conservatives get the rhetoric." For some reason I have also thought this small piece of clarity was attributed to the liberal columnist Joseph Alsop, but again I have not been able to clarify this.
So that's how things remain today. Conservatives seem to be popular only when talking to other conservatives, sort of 'preaching to the choir'. The only exception was when the choir took to the streets in the past two years and the nation was rocked by the TEA Party movement. We still have to worry about who is getting the action and who is getting the rhetoric. The mainstream news media is almost entirely liberal and control the words, the deeds and the public image of those icons who share the same thoughts. But the conservatives seem to dominate in the realm of talk radio and in the Internet blogs, which is why we are so concerned with the unconstitutional ruling by the Federal Communication Commission that granted oversight of the Internet to the government.

Then and Now: How our government has responded to Muslim pirates.

"From the halls of Montezuma to the shores of Tripoli" sings the praises of the United States Marine Corps. We fought the Muslim pirates once before, a long time ago, but that victory only lasted 200 years, and now we are dealing with them once again today. Here is a comparison of the two foreign policies that our government has used. The first is a brief extract from Wikipedia.
The First Barbary War (1801–1805), also known as the Barbary Coast War or the Tripolitan War, was the first of two wars fought between the United States and the North African Berber Muslim states known collectively as the Barbary States. These were the independent Sultanate of Morocco, Algiers and Tripoli, which were quasi-independent entities nominally belonging to the Ottoman Empire (except for Morocco which was always fully independent).

Pirate ships and crews from the North Africa's Berber states of Morocco, Tripoli, Tunis, and Algiers (the Barbary Coast), although nominally governed by the Ottoman Empire, were the scourge of the Mediterranean. Capturing merchant ships and enslaving or ransoming their crews provided the Muslim rulers of these nations with wealth and naval power.
In March 1785, Thomas Jefferson and John Adams went to London to negotiate with Tripoli's envoy, Ambassador Sidi Haji Abdrahaman (or Sidi Haji Abdul Rahman Adja). Upon inquiring "concerning the ground of the pretensions to make war upon nations who had done them no injury", the ambassador replied:
It was written in their Qu'ran, that all nations which had not acknowledged the Prophet were sinners, whom it was the right and duty of the faithful to plunder and enslave; and that every Muslim who was slain in this warfare was sure to go to paradise. He said, also, that the man who was the first to board a vessel had one slave over and above his share, and that when they sprang to the deck of an enemy's ship, every sailor held a dagger in each hand and a third in his mouth; which usually struck such terror into the foe that they cried out for quarter at once.
In October 1803, Tripoli's fleet was able to capture USS Philadelphia intact after the frigate ran aground while patrolling Tripoli harbor. Efforts by the Americans to float the ship while under fire from shore batteries and Tripolitan naval units failed. The ship, its captain, William Bainbridge, and all officers and crew were taken ashore and held as hostages. Philadelphia was turned against the Americans and anchored in the harbor as a gun battery.

On the night of February 16, 1804, Lieutenant Stephen Decatur led a small contingent of the U.S.'s first Marines in the captured Tripolitan ketch rechristened USS Intrepid, to deceive the guards on board Philadelphia and float close enough to board the captured ship. Decatur's men stormed the vessel and overpowered the Tripolitan sailors standing guard. With support from American ships, the Marines set fire to Philadelphia, denying her use to the enemy. The bravery in action of Lieutenant Stephen Decatur made him one of the first American military heroes since the Revolutionary War. The British Admiral Horatio Nelson, himself known as a man of action and bravery, is said to have called this "the most bold and daring act of the age."
The turning point in the war came with the Battle of Derna (April–May 1805). Ex-consul William Eaton, who went by the rank of general, and US Marine First Lieutenant Presley O'Bannon led a mixed force of eight United States Marines and 500 Greek, Arab, and Berber mercenaries on a march across the desert from Alexandria, Egypt to assault and to capture the Tripolitan city of Derna. This was the first time in history that the United States flag was raised in victory on foreign soil. This action was memorialized in a line from the Marines' Hymn—"to the shores of Tripoli."
The First Barbary War was beneficial to the military reputation of the U.S. America's military command and war mechanism had been up to that time relatively untested. The First Barbary War showed that America could execute a war far from home, and that American forces had the cohesion to fight together as Americans rather than separately as Georgians or New Yorkers. The United States Navy and Marines became a permanent part of the American government and American history, and Decatur returned to the U.S. as its first post-Revolutionary war hero.

The Tripoli Monument, the oldest military monument in the U.S., honors the heroes of the First Barbary War: Captain Richard Somers, Lieutenant James Caldwell, James Decatur (brother of Stephen Decatur), Henry Wadsworth, Joseph Israel and John Dorsey. Originally known as the Naval Monument, it was carved of Carrara marble in Italy in 1806 and brought to the U.S. as ballast on board the USS Constitution ("Old Ironsides"). From its original location in the Washington Navy Yard it was moved to the west terrace of the national Capitol and finally, in 1860, to the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland.
The U.S. Marines web site has recounted an epilogue to the Marine Corps victory in Tripoli by mentioning: "The Marines’ victory helped Prince Hamet Bey reclaim his rightful throne as ruler of Tripoli. In gratitude, he presented his Mameluke sword to Lt O’Bannon."

"This famous sword became part of the officer uniform in 1825, and remains the oldest ceremonial weapon in use by United States forces today."

"The Battle of Derna was the Marines' first battle on foreign soil, and is notably recalled in the first verse of the Marines’ Hymn: "From the Halls of Montezuma to the shores of Tripoli, we fight our country’s battles in the air, on land and sea." "

So much for our past glorious history. Now we all need a wake-up call. We have another problem with Muslim pirates only this time they are coming from Somalia on the Eastern edge of Africa. Somalia has not had a functioning government for over a decade. It is bordered by Djibouti to the northwest, Kenya to the southwest, the Gulf of Aden with Yemen to the north, the Indian Ocean to the east, and Ethiopia to the west.

Mike Piccione, Editor, Guns & Patriots, just sent out this email tidbit on how the U.S. government is handling the Somali Muslim pirates, today. Makes you wonder why we never seem to defeat this scum once and for all. Damn, it must be that Hollywood influence again, you know, never kill off all the bad guys if you can make a profit from a sequel.
Just so you know the US Government taxpayer forks over roughly $460,000,000 a year to the Government of Somalia for grants, economic and military aid. I recently heard our generous Feds send 80,000 tons of food a month to Somalia, but I can't confirm that number. Interestingly enough, Somalia has one of the highest birth rates in the world at 6.17 kids per woman. This ensures there will be a US Government funded pirate program for a long time to come. According to the CIA Somalia imports 58% of their goods from UAE, 20% from Yemen and 4% from Saudi Arabia. In short, we feed them and they make lots of babies and they take the money we give them and they buy stuff from Middle Eastern countries. Arrrgh…me thinks it's time to stop the funding to Somalia, matey.

You just can't make this stuff up.

Stay loaded my friends,

Mike Piccione

Ann Barnhardt Flays Lindsey Graham

This came from a post today in the New Zeal blog. I can only hope that someone shows it to Lindsey Graham.

Ann Barnhardt Flays Lindsey Graham

Ann Barnhardt rebuts ultra RINO Senator Lindsey Graham's recent  anti free speech remarks regarding  the Florida Koran burning controversy.

One of the most spirited,  gutsy and intelligent  defenses of free speech you are ever likely to hear.

After watching this, Lindsey "Jackass" Graham,  will certainly be left "blubbering in the men's room."

Part 1:
Part 2:

Bare Naked Islam went further and picked up a few more items from Ann  Barnhardt's web site. This lady has more guts than the entire U.S.Congress.
Hey, Lindsey Graham, in your honor, Ann Barnhardt is going to burn a bacon-bookmarked ‘Holy’ Qur’an

Next time you want to tell us how “Free Speech is a nice idea,” we’ll be burning thousands more qur’ans in your honor, Lindsey. Ann Akbar baby. You go girl!
For all of you concerned about Ann’s safety, as am I, here’s what she keeps on hand:
From her website:
There are a LOT of emails of concern for my safety. Yes, I knew EXACTLY what I was doing going in to this, and I am HONORED to lead you into this battle. But if you REALLY want to help me, here is what you can do. Go out, buy a koran, video yourself burning it and post that on YouTube. Do it NOW. Show the muslims how utterly futile it would be to kill me. I am delighted to lead from the front, but the only way this works is if you wonderful patriots BACK ME UP. One man storming the beach at Normandy would have been meaningless machine gun fodder. But the First Army U.S. and the Second Army U.K. storming the beach constituted a decisively victorious force. Oooh-Rah!
National radio/internet radio appearances are booked and continue to be booked. I’ll post that schedule later this morning.
Here is one more suggestion on how this may all end up. World-wide Islam has declared war on America while our politically correct politicians already want to raise the white flag. Just like the previous post mentioned, the Obama's Muslims in Washington are saying the only way to gain peace with Islam is to have more Muslims. If those "peace-loving" Muslims in America won't acknowledge that the U.S. Constitution is the Law of the Land, they should move to another country.
Click this image for a full-size view.
I'm getting fed up with reading stories about Muslims being upset over a burned Qur'an while they have been burning down hundreds of Christian churches for years, some of them while the Christians were still inside. Islam has persecuted every religion in every country they have invaded and in the last 1400 years since Mohammad invented Islam they have slaughtered over 270 million people.

Throwing fuel on the fire will never put it out. Substitute Islam for both the fuel and the fire.

Throwing a bucket of gasoline on a fire never helped to extinguish the fire, it only made things worse. Ronald Reagan never encouraged socialism and communism at home or abroad to fight the ‘Evil Empire’ of the Soviet Union. Reagan promoted the best qualities of America, free enterprise and capitalism, just the opposite, and he was successful in seeing that 'Evil Empire' fall apart. But it seems that the ass-backwards policies of our ultra-leftist Marxist Democrats like Barack Hussein Obama and Jimmy Carter, our despicable #1 and #2 worst leaders of all time, have some idea that giving aid and comfort to the sworn enemy of America will somehow make them like us more. Well, this is only my humble opinion but some very knowledgeable and experienced people now agree with it. Read the following from Jihad Watch, today:
Obama's envoy to the OIC calls for more Islam to cure violence caused by...Islam. An excellent IBD editorial about this story. "Beheading Ourselves Over Islam," from Investor's Business Daily, April 5:
Beheading ourselves over Islam
War On Terror: What can the U.S. do to quell the violent spasms of Islam? Promote Islam, naturally. At least that's the thinking of this administration. It's now official foreign policy. President Obama's top Muslim envoy has been overseas encouraging devotion to Islam, including in terror hot spots like Afghanistan. In fact, Rashad Hussain, U.S. special envoy to the Organization of the Islamic Conference, just returned from Afghanistan, where he told locals the antidote to Islamic violence "is Islam itself."
"I am of the opinion that one of the strongest tools that you can use to counter radicalization and violent extremism is Islam itself, because Islam rejects violent extremism," Hussain said during a speech in Kabul.
Afghans responded to his message by slaughtering a dozen innocent United Nations workers in the name of Islam.
Stirred by mosque sermons, a mob of thousands overran a U.N. compound in northern Afghanistan following Friday prayers. They sawed off the heads of two guards before killing the others, including Norwegian and Swedish nationals, inside. It was Afghanistan's deadliest attack on U.N. personnel.
The worshippers also burned American flags and effigies of Obama — all to defend the honor of a single, paperback copy of a Quran torched by a quack U.S. preacher thousands of miles away in Florida. So far, more than 20 have died in the rioting.
Islamic law calls for vengeance against anybody who insults Islam, its prophet or its holy book. Islamic law is enshrined in the post-Taliban Afghan constitution. Yet Rashad, a devout Muslim, says the Muslim faith is "key" to the administration's strategy to turn Muslims away from violence....
Read it all.

New Study on Hate Crimes Debunks the Myth of a Growing Trend in Muslim Victimization

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

New Study on Hate Crimes Debunks the Myth of a Growing
Trend in Muslim Victimization

Washington, DC, March 29, 2011 - The Center for Security Policy today released a revised edition of their groundbreaking longitudinal study, Religious Bias Crimes 2000-2009: Muslim, Jewish and Christian Victims - Debunking the Myth of a Growing Trend in Muslim Victimization, based on FBI statistics reported annually in the Uniform Crime Reporting Program. The Center's study contradicts the assertions that religious bias crimes against Muslims have increased, and that the alleged cause is widespread “Islamophobia” in America. In fact, the study shows that religious bias crimes - also known as hate crimes - against Muslim Americans, measured by the categories of incidents, offenses or victims, have remained relatively low with a downward trend since 2001, and are significantly less than the numbers of bias crimes against Jewish victims.

The Center's study also contradicts the assumption of increased hate crimes against Muslims which has been asserted by Senator Richard Durbin's (D-IL) Senate Judiciary Committee's Subcommittee on the Constitution, and is the topic of hearings being held today. Printed copies of the study were delivered to each member of the U.S. Senate early this morning.

According to the Center's analysis, in 2009, Jewish victims of hate crimes outnumbered Muslim victims by more than 8 to 1 (1,132 Jewish victims to 132 Muslim victims). From 2000 through 2009, for every one hate crime incident against a Muslim, there were six hate crime incidents against Jewish victims (1,580 Muslim incidents versus 9,692 Jewish incidents). Even in 2001 when religious bias crimes against Muslims increased briefly for a nine-week period, total anti-Muslim incidents, offenses and victims remained approximately half of the corresponding anti-Jewish totals.

The study provides hard data that disproves the counterfactual statements made by a small number of highly vocal Muslim lobbying groups, many linked to the Muslim Brotherhood, as well as leftwing activists. Citing these false assumptions concerning America’s alleged “Islamophobia” and a supposed rising trend in hate crimes against Muslim Americans, these organizations argued against holding the March 10, 2011 House Committee on Homeland Security hearings on Muslim American radicalization, and have argued for today's hearings in the Senate Judiciary Committee's Subcommittee on the Constitution . The study shows that these arguments against the March 10 hearings, and for today's March 29 hearings, are not based on facts but rather on a political agenda.

Frank Gaffney, President of Center for Security Policy remarked:

This report is important because it exposes a false belief perpetuated by a few vocal groups that religious bias crimes against Muslims are on the upswing. The truth is quite the opposite. These arguments, unsubstantiated by hard factual data, are corrosive to community relationships at every level of American society, and a potential threat to national security.

Fundamental differences between Islam and our Constitutional freedom.

The substitute title for this article could be:
Barack Hussein Obama admits that Islam is NOT a religion.

Barack Hussein Obama has attempted to condemn the Muslim rioting in Kandahar, Afghanistan that resulted in the brutal deaths of 20 guards and staff at the U.N. compound there because some Islamic clerics had incited thousands of faithful followers to protest the burning of a Koran by a Florida preacher. Obama was quoted as saying:
"However, to attack and kill innocent people in response is outrageous, and an affront to human decency and dignity. No religion tolerates the slaughter and beheading of innocent people, and there is no justification for such a dishonorable and deplorable act...."
So in a technical sense Obama was correct, NO RELIGION would tolerate such a barbaric act, so that excludes Islam from being considered a religion since Islamic clerics encouraged the riots to defend Islam in the first place. But the larger question concerns the fundamental differences between our Constitutional Republic and the Islamic Sharia Laws that rule that Muslim country and every other Muslim country. The first and foremost freedom guaranteed by our U. S. Constitution is Freedom of Speech which encompasses Freedom of Expression, Freedom of Assembly and Freedom of the Press. When the framers of our Constitution were debating the Bill of Rights, which contain the first ten amendments of the Constitution, they were very much influenced by the writings of the French philosopher Voltaire who was a strong advocate for free speech. Voltaire has often been credited with the famous saying: “I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.” How different this idea is compared to the vociferous objections heard around the world from Muslims who demand death to anyone who criticize Islam.

Barack Hussein Obama attended school in Indonesia, and many people think he was actually enrolled there as a Muslim. Obama studied Islam to the point where he can recite the passages in the Qur'an in fluent Arabic some 30 years afterward. He has publicly stated that the Muslim call to prayers is the “most beautiful sound he has ever heard”. Yet when he condemns the barbaric act in Kandahar and says “No religion tolerates the slaughter and beheading of innocent people,” he conveniently overlooks one important passage in that so-called “holy book” he has memorized, Sera 8 Verse 12 that quotes this instruction to all Muslims from their Prophet Mohammad:
"Your Lord inspired the angels with the message: 'I am with you. Give firmness to the Believers. I will terrorize the unbelievers. Therefore smite them on their necks and every joint and incapacitate them. Strike off their heads and cut off each of their fingers and toes.'
And lets not forget that the current ruler of Afghanistan, President Hamid Karzai, who has the endorsement of Barack Hussein Obama, has also vehemently objected to the Florida preacher who burned the Qur'an, so it wasn’t just the Muslim clerics who stoked the flames of violence. It was the leader of the Afghanistan government (who is also another Muslim).

In America, in the later half of the 20th Century, the leftist sympathizers in our news media have conspired to cover up the Islamic connection to violence and terrorism both at home and abroad. Apart from the numerous writings by former Muslims who have risked their lives to condemn the violent commands found in the Qur’an, many statesmen in the past have also done so. Among them was British Member of Parliament William Ewart Gladstone (1809–1898) who called the Qur'an an "Accursed Book" and once held it up during a session of Parliament, declaring: "So long as there is this book there will be no peace in the world."

Politico:
Reid: 'We'll look into' Quran burning

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) told CBS's Bob Schieffer on Sunday that some members of Congress were considering some kind of action in response to the Florida Quran burning that  sparked a murderous riot at a United Nations complex in Afghanistan and other mayhem.
"Ten to 20 people have been killed," Reid said on "Face the Nation," but refused to say flat-out that the Senate would pass a resolution condemning pastor Terry Jones.
"We’ll take a look at this of course...as to whether we need hearings or not, I don’t know," he added.
Or, as Bare Naked Islam commented:

Traitorous scum Harry Reid (DemocRAT) and Lindsey Graham (RINO slug) both are considering making Quran-burning against the law. Not Bibles, not Torahs, JUST Qur’ans.

Isn’t this proof-positive that Islam is an evil, vicious cult? What other religion would do this?

"Two beheaded, 20 dead in Afghan clash after U.S. preacher burns Koran," by Mohammad Bashir for the Associated Press, April 1:

Afghan protesters angered by the burning of a Koran by an obscure U.S. pastor killed up to 20 UN staff, beheading two foreigners, when they overran a compound in a normally peaceful northern city on Friday in the worst-ever attack on the UN in Afghanistan.

At least eight foreigners were among the dead after attackers took out security guards, burned parts of the compound and climbed up blast walls to topple a guard tower, said Lal Mohammad Ahmadzai, a police spokesman for the northern region.

Five protesters were also killed and around 20 wounded.
How does such behavior help to win favor and sympathy for Muslims anywhere? This is a perfect example of how easily the Muslim mentality can be manipulated toward violence. This is pure barbarism spurred on by religious fanatics who control the minds of a faithful following who have endured a lifelong indoctrination of hatred against everyone who is not a Muslim. This religion of Islam is nothing but a hate group. A very dangerous hate group, and should be banned in every civilized country on earth.

Will Florida pastor be put on trial in Pakistan for insulting Islam in America?

It begins today with a story on Bare Naked Islam that comes out of Pakistan, a country where Christians have been imprisoned for life for committing blasphemy against Islam for merely touching the Qur’an with unwashed hands. It rides on the heels of other stories where enraged Muslims in the Middle East have gone on a rampage and burned down Christian churches and killed numerous Christian worshipers solely because they were insulted because a pastor named Terry Jones in Florida burned a copy of the Qur’an.
PAKISTAN wants INTERPOL to arrest qur’an-burning Florida pastor
DAWN –ISLAMABAD: The government told the Senate on Monday it would write to the Pope and Interpol for action against an American pastor over the burning of the holy Quran before the upper house unanimously passed a resolution calling upon the United States to bring the controversial preacher to justice.

Interior Minister Rehman Malik (photo below) informed the house after a fiery debate at the start of a new session that he was addressing the letters to Pope Benedict XVI and Interpol Secretary-General Ronald Nobel on the directive of President Asif Ali Zardari, who had himself called for UN action over the March 21 incident in his address to a joint sitting of parliament on March 22.

The letter to the Interpol chief, he said, would demand that international police treat the matter as case of “criminal violence” and take measures to guard against any future desecration or blasphemy.

The Senate resolution, which Leader of the House Nayyar Hussain Bokhari said was agreed to by all parliamentary groups, strongly condemned the incident and called upon the United States to take legal action against pastor Terry Jones, who oversaw the burning of the Quran at a church in Florida.

It also urged all Muslim countries to convey their outrage to the United States and asked the United Nations to take notice of what it called “heinous act”. Some two dozen senators from all parties spoke on the issue, some of them calling for a proactive role by Pakistan like proposing a special summit of the Organisation of Islamic Conference, and some others, particularly those from religious parties, holding the US government responsible for allowing this act to take place.
The fact that the government of Pakistan has called upon INTERPOL, the International Criminal Police Organization, to arrest Pastor Terry Jones on United States soil and bring him up on charges in Pakistan is a most important issue. It is important because the one-time Muslim occupant in the White House, Barack Hussein Obama, has issued an executive order granting INTERPOL total diplomatic immunity from our U.S. Constitution. See my blog post from Wednesday, December 23, 2009:
Obama has given Interpol unlimited authority over Americans on U.S. soil.
On December 16, 2009, Barack Hussein Obama issued Executive Order 13524 (full text below from the Federal Register) that has removed all restrictions previously in force and now gives Interpol complete immunity against U.S. citizens on U.S. soil. What this means is that Interpol now has greater authority over Americans within our own country than our own police agencies. The loss of U.S. Sovereignty means that with the removal of previous restrictions enacted by President Reagan with his Executive Order 12425 issued in 1983, Interpol now has diplomatic immunity and is not restrained by the power of the Bill of Rights or the United States Constitution.

Amending Executive Order 12425 Designating
Interpol as a Public International Organization Entitled To Enjoy Certain Privileges, Exemptions, and Immunities
By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, including section 1 of the International Organizations Immunities Act (22 U.S.C. 288), and in order to extend the appropriate privileges, exemptions, and immunities to the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL), it is hereby ordered that Executive Order 12425 of June 16, 1983, as amended, is further amended by deleting from the first sentence the words ``except those provided by Section 2(c), Section3, Section 4, Section 5, and Section 6 of that Act''and the semicolon that immediately precedes them.

Billing code 3195-W0-P
It is important because the one-time Muslim Barack Hussein Obama signed into law his own version of a Hate Crime bill, a controversial bill that initially passed in the House on April 29, 2009 as H.R.1913 The Hate Crimes Prevention Act of 2009. By the time the bill was introduced in the Senate as S.909 now called The Matthew Shepard Hate Crimes Prevention Act, introduced on April 28, 2009, a firestorm of protest had erupted and it faced certain defeat until some leftist Democrat tacked the entire bill on to  another bill, S. 1390: National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2010 which passed in the Senate on July 23, 2009. The controversy was primarily over the bill’s language that gave protection to every conceivable sexual deviancy that earned it the name 'The Pedophile Protection Act.' But the Democrat controlled Congress in 2009 was not concerned with Islamic extremism at the time so little discussion was given to the “religious” aspect of the hate crime bill. But laws against religious crimes of hate have already been passed in many European countries and in Austria, last year, an Austrian woman Elisabeth Sabaditsch-Wolff was charged with a “hate crime”, specifically “incitement to hatred” after quoting passages from the Qur’an and as The International Free Press Society reported recently:
Law in Austria: Guilty for Questioning Islam
By A. Millar • on March 9, 2011

The European “elite” has increasingly asserted that any questioning of Islam is criminal.

A few weeks ago Elisabeth Sabaditsch-Wolff was fined 480 Euros for the “denigration of religious teachings of a legally recognized religion in Austria.” In a three-part seminar Mrs. Sabaditsch-Wolff had referred to Islam’s prophet Mohammed’s marriage to Aisha. According to generally-accepted Islamic textual tradition, Aisha was six at the time of the marriage, which was consummated when she was nine. Mrs. Sabaditsch-Wolff asked rhetorically “if this does not constitute pedophilia, what does?”
Further down in this story comes this admission:
The case has aroused little publicity in Austria, and almost none in other EU member states. I have also not seen any articles on the subject in the British media.

Mrs. Sabaditsch-Wolff says that the Austrian press “gleefully reported that I have finally been convicted. Apart from one journalist, no one even questioned what this was about” – nor, apparently, how such a conviction might affect freedom of speech and freedom of the press inside Europe.

It was the Left-wing News magazine that had first approached the authorities to press for a prosecution. Mrs. Sabaditsch-Wolff believes the real target was the Austrian Freedom Party, as she had delivered the seminar to the party’s Freedom Education Institute. “The Muslim community in Austria has, apart from a very few comments, ignored me,” she says. “They were not the ones who reported me to the police. They could not have cared less about me.”
And concluding with this dire warning for American citizens, as well, since our own leftist news media seldom has anything to say about it:
Mrs. Sabaditsch-Wolff will appeal the verdict to Austria’s high court, and, if necessary, take her fight to the European Court of Human Rights. However, with her case having garnering so little attention, she is, she says, “desperately in need of donations.” The case has already cost 7,000 Euros, and it will take more to fight the decision. “If there are no funds that means I will have to stop [the appeal],” she says.

If this happens, a court in Austria will have set a precedent for the EU, and perhaps eventually even for the US: Question Islam, and you will be hauled into court, tried, and convicted.
But it appears that Obama’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement watchdogs are already keened into the subject. Read this story about what happened to Austrian citizen Elisabeth Sabaditsch-Wolff when she traveled to the United States to give a lecture on Andrew Breitbart’s BIG PEACE.

Andrew Breitbart Presents
BIG PEACE

Recently acquitted in Austria on charges of “incitement to hatred” stemming from comments made in a seminar series about Islam, Austrian citizen Elisabeth Sabaditsch-Wolff now also has been subjected to lengthy questioning by the U.S. Immigration and Customs (ICE) service upon arrival in Miami, FL on 4 March 2011. Wolff, who lived in the U.S. as a child, now lives with her family in Vienna, Austria but returns regularly to the U.S. for visits. Although acquitted of “incitement to hatred,” Wolff was convicted in February 2011 of the lesser charge of “denigration of the teachings of a legally recognized religion” and assessed a fine. She is appealing.

When she arrived in Miami on 4 March 2011 en route to a West Palm Beach conference on shariah Islam at which she was to deliver a presentation, Wolff was pulled out of the line by ICE officers and subjected to lengthy pointed questioning. Her belongings also were thoroughly searched by hand. The questions focused on her purpose in visiting the U.S. but after the ICE officers had a look at the text of Wolff’s speech, which she showed them to substantiate her reasons for this trip, the questions from ICE officers became even more pointed and frankly inappropriate.

In addition to querying Wolff about her speech and the conference, the ICE officers wanted to know why she was traveling alone, where her husband was, how she earned a living, and most inappropriate of all, whether she were a “practicing Christian.” A Dutch colleague of Wolff’s, also to speak at the conference, was similarly subjected to lengthy and hostile questioning by ICE officials, both in Amsterdam and at JFK Airport upon arrival in the U.S. After looking at the text of his speech, one of the ICE officials in Amsterdam flatly told the Dutch citizen that his activism against shariah Islam “is discrimination.”

Both Wolff and her colleague ultimately were released and permitted to continue their travel in the U.S., but were sent off with the explicit warning to Wolff that she should “tone down the rhetoric.”

While ICE and other Department of Homeland Security (DHS) officials have the legal duty to scrutinize would-be visitors to the U.S. at points of entry, what appears to be gratuitous harassment on grounds apparently related to issues of free speech is inappropriate. Wolff was convicted in Austria under laws that are incompatible with the right to free speech enshrined in the U.S. Constitution’s First Amendment. No American could ever be convicted in the U.S. for “denigration of the teachings of a legally recognized religion.” Belief systems, Ideology, and religious teachings are not off-limits from criticism in this country. Not yet anyway.
Yeah, not yet anyway. So maybe Pastor Terry Jones has something to worry about. With INTERPOL granted diplomatic immunity on U.S. soil by one-time Muslim Barack Hussein Obama, who also signed into law our own hate crimes bill, as writer Clare M. Lopez says in her closing comments:
The United States is the last true bastion of protected free speech in the world. We cannot allow the precious freedoms we hold dear to be eroded under the assault of an alien legal system that would replace them with a totalitarian world order. The ICE treatment of Elisabeth Sabaditsch-Wolf and her Dutch colleague should sound a warning to all of us that shariah can happen here, too, if we let it.
Hopefully, the recent ruling by the U.S. Supreme Court that held that the radical hate group in the Kansas-based Westboro Baptist Church had a constitutional right to free speech when they protested military funerals, carrying signs filled with hate that read "Thank God For Dead Soldiers", will somehow protect the free speech of Pastor Terry Jones. But what is to stop INTERPOL from kidnapping Pastor Jones and secretly transporting him to Pakistan to stand trial?
