The Fox News web site posted this story today:
Speaker Pelosi Says Boehner 'Is Known to Cry' Over Bill Debates
Outgoing Speaker Nancy Pelosi hints that she still wears the pants in the House while taking a jab at Rep. John Boehner, saying 'he cries sometimes when we're having a debate on bills.'
"You know what? He is known to cry. He cries sometimes when we're having a debate on bills," she told the newspaper. "If I cry, it's about the personal loss of a friend or something like that. But when it comes to politics – no I don't cry. I would never think of crying about any loss of an office, because that’s always a possibility, and if you're professional, then you deal with it professionally."
These insulting and undignified comments by the outgoing Speaker of the House are an excellent reason why the Republicans should stop trying to treat their fellow members of Congress as respectable colleagues.
These past two years while the Democrats held an absolute majority in both Houses of Congress they demonstrated a complete lack of regard for both the American public and their elected Republican representatives. Their arrogance and elitism in such statements as “You will have to pass the bill if you want to know what is in it.” shows they do not deserve any manner of mutual respect.
They deserve no compassion or cordiality or any form of dignified respect. For too many years Republican members of Congress have treated the Democrats like they all belonged to an exclusive country club and now it is time to put this to an end.
