Obama: What do we need NASA for when you have me?

It used to be that America was looked upon with respect because we were a great and powerful nation. The world admired us once for being the only country to land men on the Moon and NASA's progress with the Mercury, Gemini and Apollo programs used to be the highlight of every newscast. After President John F. Kennedy's promise to put men on the Moon before the end of the 1960's we poured our heart and soul into building bigger and more powerful rockets, not for use in warfare but in peaceful exploration. And our technology in space exploration became the inspiration for the modern electronic age. The trickle down effect from these technological innovations helped advance the fields of medicine, communication and even our entertainment industry. After all, we had the Right Stuff.

Now we have a community organizer with a following of left-wing zealots as our Great Leader who is leading this great country in a mad dash toward bankruptcy. Like the uneducated native of some third-world country who uses the crop seeds sent to him in a Care Package for food instead of planting them for a harvest, Obama has decided to end our plans to return to the Moon because he needs to use the money for something else. Even though NASA has already spent billions developing a new generation of rockets powerful enough to transport material to the Luna surface to build a base for scientific use, with the stroke of a pen Obama has canceled our plans.
After being awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for doing nothing but making promises, Obama must be convinced he is omnipotent. How else would such a narcissist think of himself? What do we need NASA for when we have Obama.

Obama to America: Do as I say, not as I do.

Obama's first State of the Union address took the same road he often takes with every other speech. He talked about himself. He fills almost every sentence with I, I, I, and Me, Me, Me, as would be expected of any narcissist who is in love with his own image. He refuses to accept blame for his actions which the majority of the public has now rejected and instead continues to accuse everyone else for his failures. Obama not only considers himself an elitist but one who is so consumed with self-importance that he must be better than everyone else. While Obama calls for a halt to spending by the Federal government he sees nothing wrong with the vast personal expenditures he and his wife and the leaders of his Democrat cabal continue to write up. Even the little things such as his wife Michelle taking a short trip to the local Washington, D.C. Farmers Market and bringing along 13 car loads of security personnel, staff photographers to record the photo-op and assistants so she could buy some organic vegetables. Or Barack and Michelle going out on a "date night" to New York City and costing the American taxpayers over $100,000 in costs for Air Force One.

Last year it was documented on The American Thinker web site that Michelle Obama has a personal staff of dozens of people that have an annual salary of $1,488,500. just to help her get dressed and schedule appointments. The story posted on July 8, 2009 reads:
Your Tax Dollars at Work: Supporting Michelle Obama in the Manner
by Ralph Alter

The figures are in.  As required by Congress since 1995, salaries paid to staffers employed in the West Wing of the White House must be publicly reported.  Most of you won't be pleased to learn that your tax dollars are paying $1,448,500 annually to provide the First Lady, Michelle Obama, with the staff she feels she needs to execute her duties as FLOTUS.

For purposes of comparison, please consult Dan Froomkin's 2004 White House Staff List-By Salary published in the Washington Post on June 13, 2004
.  Tallying Laura Bush's staff from the list provided by Froomkin totals $561,325 in annual salaries for the former First Lady's staff.

This number does not include White House maintenance or kitchen staff or the occasional pizza night with Barack and Michelle flying in the chef from a St. Louis restaurant to kick back and share some deep dish with 140 of their close personal friends.  Nor does it include date nights in Chicago
.

And it certainly doesn't include Michelle's European vacation with her daughters.  In fact, CNS reports that "the White House will not reveal the cost to taxpayers of the European vacation that first lady Michelle Obama and the president's two daughters, Malia and Sasha, took last month."

Despite deploying multiple aircraft, a huge staff and a motorcade of 20 vehicles including support staff on tours of London and Paris and la-di-da, apparently the White House feels there is some sort of executive privilege involved in withholding the cost of the First Family's extravagances from the citizens who foot the bill for them."
And another web site, Politics Daily, obtained the actual salary records for Michelle Obama's staff.
The salaries for staffers in the Office of First Lady are also on the newest list. The highest paid is Chief of Staff Susan Sher, who gets the top $172,200. Here are the rest:

$140,000
Frye, Jocelyn C. (DEPUTY ASSISTANT TO THE PRESIDENT AND DIRECTOR OF POLICY AND PROJECTS FOR THE FIRST LADY)

Now comes word that Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi has spent over 2-million dollars in the past two years on food and beverages and operating expenses for her Air Force jet that she demanded be reserved for her personal travel from Washington, D.C. to her home in San Francisco on weekends. This jet was required to be  capable of making non-stop trans-continental flights costing the taxpayers over $28,000 per trip. To make matters worse, there are additional costs related to meal preparation, pre-flight aircraft prepping and transporting flight crews which must be kept on stand-by. And these Air Force flight crews follow the same rules as commercial pilots in that they are only permitted to be on active stand-by for 8-hours periods and then need to relieved with another crew. It has been reported that Pelosi is not a punctual traveler and changes her plans often racking up additional costs to the Air Force. And when Nancy Pelosi's private Air Force jet does take off it doesn't land at SFO, the commercial airport in San Francisco, because that is an hour and a half drive from her home. Pelosi has her jet land at Travis Air Force base.

The latest tab was discovered by Judicial Watch and reported in WorldNet Daily News today.
"Documents obtained under the Freedom of Information Act by Judicial Watch, which investigates and prosecutes government corruption, show Pelosi incurred expenses of some $2.1 million for her use of Air Force jets for travel over that time.

Judicial Watch said the newly obtained  2,000 pages of documentation show Pelosi's military travel cost the U.S. Air Force $2,100,744.59 over two years – including $101,429.14 for in-flight expenses, including food and alcohol."
If you're interested in checking the dirty details you can view every one of the 1,949 pages obtained by Judicial Watch in their FOI request. They posted them on-line here:
http://www.judicialwatch.org/story/2010/jan/nancy-pelosi-air-force-documents
Here is an interesting side note. Several web sites that check out rumors all agree that when Pelosi took over as Speaker of the House in 2007 she did not ask for a commercial size jet to fly her home on weekends. Documents released in March 2009 by the government watchdog group Judicial Watch reveal that between January 2007 and November 2008 Pelosi never used a military plane larger than a 12-passenger Air Force C-37 for any domestic flight. Judicial Watch says:
Speaker Pelosi used Air Force aircraft to travel back to her district at an average cost of $28,210.51 per flight. The average cost of an international CODEL is $228,563.33. Of the 103 Pelosi-led congressional delegations (CODEL), 31 trips included members of the House Speaker’s family.(CODEL means Congressional Delegation) “Speaker Pelosi has a history of wasting taxpayer funds with her boorish demands for military travel. And these documents suggest the Speaker’s congressional delegations are more about partying than anything else,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton.
History has always shown that whenever a conquering hoard takes control of a country one of their first acts is to loot the treasury. The current Democrat controlled government appears to be no different.  In spite of their assertions that they are a party of the people these Democrats seem all to interested in themselves and the people be damned. Want to know more about the depth of corruption within the Democrat Party? Look no further than Michelle Malkin's column on  August 20, 2008, The Democrat Party platform’s hidden Soros Slush Fund.
In practice, this Barack Obama brainchild would serve as a permanent, taxpayer-backed pipeline to Democrat partisan outfits masquerading as public-interest do-gooders. This George Soros Slush Fund would be political payback in spades. Obama owes much of his Chicago political success to financial support from radical, left-wing billionaire and leading “social entrepreneur” Soros. In June 2004, Soros threw a big fund-raiser at his New York home for Obama’s Illinois Senate campaign. Soros and family personally chipped in $60,000. In April 2007, Obama was back in New York for a deep-pocketed Manhattan fund-raising soiree, with Soros lurking in his shadow (yes, that’s him behind Obama grasping onto the stairs).
Then start to connect the dots with this Wall Street Journal column on August 18, 2009, Obama Underwrites Offshore Drilling, Too bad it's not in U.S. waters.
The U.S. Export-Import Bank tells us it has issued a "preliminary commitment" letter to Petrobras in the amount of $2 billion and has discussed with Brazil the possibility of increasing that amount. Ex-Im Bank says it has not decided whether the money will come in the form of a direct loan or loan guarantees. Either way, this corporate foreign aid may strike some readers as odd, given that the U.S. Treasury seems desperate for cash and Petrobras is one of the largest corporations in the Americas.
Now see the connection between George Soros, Barack Obama and the U.S. backed loan to Petrobras in this web blog Hot Air story, also on August 18, 2009. Good news: Obama backs off-shore drilling! Update: A Soros connection? by Ed Morrissey.
His New York-based hedge-fund firm, Soros Fund Management LLC, sold 22 million U.S.-listed common shares of Petrobras, as the Brazilian oil company is known, according to a filing today with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Soros bought 5.8 million of the company’s U.S.-traded preferred shares.

Is it a coincidence that Obama backer George Soros repositioned himself in Petrobras to get dividends just a few days before Obama committed $2 billion in loans and guarantees for Petrobras’ offshore operations?   Hmmmmmmmmmm.
Like the French aristocrats two centuries ago, todays Democrats feel like they are royalty. This particular administration that has placed tax evaders, sex perverts, communists and animal rights advocates in places of power is totally devoid of morals and ethics and as the French people said of their royalty after their revolution, "Off with their heads." America has already seen one revolution that shaped the birth of this nation and we shall witness another come the fall elections in November.

Obama web site assists in phony Letter To The Editor campaign.

The big question that started around the Internet a few days ago is, "Who is Ellie Light?". If you have never heard of her maybe you should check out the Letters to the Editor page in your newspaper. Ellie Light gets around and apparently lives in some 47 cities across the country and she is a really big fan of Barack H. Obama. Sabrina Eaton, a reporter for The Plain Dealer in Cleveland, Ohio discovered that multiple letters bearing the same authors name, all identical and all supporting Barack H. Obama, have been appearing in newspapers almost everywhere and that story has prompted other people to conduct more searches in their newspapers. Here are links to several stories beginning with the three stories written by Sabrina Eaton on January  22nd, 23rd and 24th.

Ellie Light responds: Prolific pro-Obama letter writer talks about her online critics
By Sabrina Eaton, The Plain Dealer
January 24, 2010, 9:00PM

Barack H. Obama's web site, Organizing for America has a page devoted to helping his fans write Letters to the Editor to newspapers across the country and supplies the talking points for copy and paste use as well as an automatically generated list of newspapers in the writer's area. All the writer needs to do is enter a ZIP code to generate the list of newspapers and check off which one's to send the letter to. Here is the opening page: http://my.barackobama.com/page/speakout/

Now other groups are checking the Internet for similar letters supporting Obama and dozens more similarities have been discovered.  Here is what the web site Patterico.com wrote:

Ellie Light: Obama Astroturfer? Or Very, Very, Very Energetic But Independent Letter Writer? With Houses All Over the Nation?

A woman has written the same letter defending Obama to dozens of publications across the country, getting them published in at least 42 newspapers in 18 states, as well as Politico.com, the Washington Times, and USA Today. And the woman, Ellie Light, has claimed residence in many of these states.

Think there might be some phony Astroturfing there?

At the Cleveland Plain Dealer, Sabrina Eaton makes a nice catch:

    Ellie Light sure gets around.

In recent weeks, Light has published virtually identical “Letters to the Editor” in support of President Barack Obama in more than a dozen newspapers.Every letter claimed a different residence for Light that happened to be in the newspaper’s circulation area.

“It’s time for Americans to realize that governing is hard work, and that a president can’t just wave a magic wand and fix everything,” said a letter from alleged Philadelphian Ellie Light, that was published in the Jan. 19 edition of The Philadelphia Daily News.

A letter from Light in the Jan. 20 edition of the San Francisco Examiner concluded with an identical sentence, but with an address for Light all the way across the country in Daly City, California.

Variations of Light’s letter ran in Ohio’s Mansfield News Journal on Jan. 13, with Light claiming an address in Mansfield; in New Mexico’s Ruidoso News on Jan. 12, claiming an address in Three Rivers; in South Carolina’s The Sun News on Jan. 18, claiming an address in Myrtle Beach; and in the Daily News Leader of Staunton, Virginia on Jan. 15, claiming an address in Waynesboro. Her publications list includes other papers in Ohio, West Virginia, Maine, Michigan, Iowa, Pennsylvania and California, all claiming separate addresses.

She has more houses than John McCain!

But there are a few more places her little pro-Obama missive appeared, besides those documented.

Like Ben Smith at Politico.
And the Washington Times.
And a blog at USA Today.
And the Sheboygan Press in Wisconsin. And the Stevens Point Journal in Wisconsin — listing an address of Algoma, Wisconsin.

And in addition to the Californian.com link provided in the Plain Dealer story, listing an address in Salinas, CA, there are other California letters with other California addresses.

The letter appears in the Gilroy Dispatch and Morgan Hill Times, both listing an address of San Felipe, CA.
And in Good Times, listing an address in Santa Cruz, CA.
And in TheUnion.com, listing an address of Grass Valley, CA.
And Connecticut’s stamfordadvocate.com.

A letter was sent to a columnist at the local Daily Breeze here in the South Bay area of Los Angeles.

Who is Ellie Light?
I would like to know.
Wouldn’t you?

P.S. If you find other examples, please leave them in comments with a link. Many more updates in the extended entry.

UPDATE: Add the following:

California: The Los Banos Enterprise, listing an address of Gustine, CA.
Maine: In addition to the Maine link above, there is another appearance of the letter in Maine: in the Bangor Daily News, in which Light lists an address of Bangor, Maine.
Maryland: The Baltimore Chronicle.
Massachusetts: The North Adams Transcript, listing an address of Williamstown.

List your additions below.

UPDATE x2: Add these as well:

Connecticut: Another Connecticut paper, in addition to the Stamford listing: the Danbury News-Times. And here’s another: the Greenwich Time a/k/a Ctpost.com. (Address listed is Greenwich.)
Georgia: Gainesville Times. (Her address is listed as Gainesville.)
Massachusetts: In addition to the above, there is The Berkshire Eagle.
New Hampshire: It appeared in the Seacoastonline, which appears to be an online version of several New England papers including the Portsmouth Herald, Exeter News Letter, and others. Light’s address was listed as Portsmouth, NH.
Vermont: Bennington Banner.
Wisconsin: In addition to the above, there is the Oshkosh Northwestern (address listed is Oshkosh).

So far I count 35 publications in 16 states as well as the District of Columbia. Light managed to get herself published in media outlets in California, Connecticut, Georgia, Iowa, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Hampshire, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, D.C., West Virginia, and Wisconsin.

UPDATE x3: redc1c4 adds Spectrum.com in Utah, where Light claims to be from Washington City. That’s 36 publications in 17 states plus D.C.

UPDATE x4: DRJ adds 5 more publications in comments:

    Here are a few more:

HudsonHubTimes.com, in which Ellie listed Streetsboro, OH as her hometown.
The Willits News, with Willits, CA as the hometown.
CDAPress.com of Coeur d’Alene, ID, with Ellie listing a hometown of Post Falls.
From Ohio, the Chillicothe Gazette, with Chillicothe, OH as the hometown.

And my current favorite so far, The Bangkok Post — the “World’s Window to Thailand.” No hometown provided.

Idaho is thus included as a new state, bringing the running total to 41 publications in 18 states plus D.C.

UPDATE x4: redc1c4 adds an Annapolis, Maryland publication. Light lists her city of residence as Annapolis. That’s 42 publications in 18 states plus D.C.

Anybody in Montpelier know Ellie Light?
by: Jack McCullough
Sat Jan 23, 2010 at 22:40:21 PM EST

UPDATE: Ellie Light surfaced in yesterday's Plain Dealer, but still no answer on who she actually is or where she lives.
This week's issue of The Bridge, Montpelier's local newspaper, has an example of a nationwide phenomenon.
Specifically, it's a letter from Ellie Light of Montpelier pleading for patience for Obama to achieve his objectives.

The trouble with this?

It's the same letter, with the same signature, as has appeared in newspapers all over the country, all giving an address corresponding to the locality where the newspaper is published.

Last, but not least, is the results of research conducted by the staff at WorldNet Daily News that shows there are more people besides "Ellie Light" writing numerous complimentary letters about Barack H. Obama.

"Aside from Light's messages, duplicate pro-Obama letters have been submitted to dozens of publications by writers identified as "Jan Chen," "Gloria Elle," "Cherry Jimenez," "Janet Leigh," "Earnest Gardner," "Jen Park," "Lars Deerman," "John F. Stott," "Gordon Adams," "Nancy Speed," "Sheila Price," "Clarence Ndangam," "Vernetta Mason," "Greg Mitchell," "Ermelinda Giurato," "J. Scott Piper," "Robert Vander Molen" and "Terri Reese."

Just as news of Light's duplicate messages broke, readers began finding various letters written by "Mark Spivey," a man who simultaneously claims to live in San Diego, Calif., and Naples, Fla. His pro-Obama letter, "Considering Afghanistan," was published by the Minnesota Daily, the Baltimore Chronicle, the San Diego Union-Tribune and Naples News."

The Internet and especially the web site YouTube has tranformed politics dramatically in the last few years. Whereas in the old days when the pen was considered mightier than the sword, the Internet can now make a single pen seem like an army. Is this a takeoff on the slogan "An Army of One"?

Fallout from Massachusetts causes another Democrat to change plans.

The fallout from the Republican victory in Massachusetts last Tuesday continues as yet another prominent Democrat has changed his mind about running for election in November.

The following is the opening paragraph of an Associated Press news story today:
DOVER, Del. (AP) — Beau Biden announced Monday that he will not seek election to the U.S. Senate seat long held by his father, Vice President Joe Biden, putting another Democratic-held Senate seat in jeopardy and dealing another blow to President Barack Obama's flailing party.
The public's repudiation of Barack Hussein Obama's extreme makeover of America has caused Democrats everywhere to reconsider their future ambitions. When Delaware Sen. Joe Biden took the position of Vice-President, thus creating an open seat in the Senate, the governor of Delaware appointed a temporary candidate to fill the vacancy with the understanding that Joe Biden's son was the heir apparent to the position. Now, even the political climate in Delaware, another solid Blue State,  has caused Beu Biden to have second thoughts about trying to win this election.

Expect more to come.

Obama uses a teleprompter to speak to a 6th grade class.

There was a joke circulating a few months ago about Barack Hussein Obama's dependency on his ever-present teleprompters in that he even has one in his bedroom in the White House that he uses to converse with his wife. Well, now it has been reported that when he went to the Graham Road Elementary School in Falls Church, Virginia last week he had two teleprompters present when he spoke to some 30 students in a 6th grade class and he glanced at them throughout his speech. To think that this person who has been referred to by his idolizing left-wing news media as a great orator must rely on having a teleprompter in order to speak to a group of children is so evident of the sham being perpetrated on the American public.

The people of Massachusetts have finally come to their senses and rejected Obama's phony agenda. It is expected that the voters in the other 49 states will follow suit in November.

New twist in Rifqa Bary case. CAIR attorney faces prosecution.

Pamela Geller, at Atlas Shrugs, who has been waging a non-stop battle to support Rifqa Bary, reported yesterday an astounding development that has come to light in the legal battle over this young Muslim girl who converted to Christianity.

CAIR Accomplices, Witnesses for the Rifqa Prosecution (Brian Smith, Tom Sanchez and Jeff Parker), Allegedly Stealing Her Legal Defense Donations: Facing embezzlement, mail tampering and illegal wiretapping charges

The smoke is clearing on why the Muslim Brotherhood/Hamas front CAIR suddenly made a deal on Tuesday to free Rifqa from sharia law (here and here). Even her defense was shocked by the CAIR capitulation. Now we know why.
It now comes out that during Rifqa Bary's trials in Florida and Ohio Family Court, Pamela Geller had made appeals to her readers to send contributions to aid in Rifqa's defense and to help her afterward. Those funds had been directed to the World Revolution Church, c/o Rifqa Bary, who's pastor Blake Lorenz and his wife Beverly were instrumental in providing sanctuary for Rifqa in Orlando, Florida. Three members of Pastor Lorenz's church, Brian Smith, Tom Sanchez and Jeff Parker staged an illegal coup and had Blake Lorenz fired. These three then opened the mail addressed to Pastor Lorenz and took possession of the checks made out for Rifqa. Then it has been alleged they turned that money over to the CAIR (Council on American Islamic Relations) attorney Omar Tarazi.
The website JAWA Report  http://mypetjawa.mu.nu/archives/200581.php  details this development.

January 22, 2010

CAIR and media’s “star witnesses” in Rifqa Bary case (Brian Smith, Tom Sanchez and Jeff Parker) facing embezzlement, mail tampering and illegal wiretapping charges

And surprise (!), the CAIR attorney in the case, Omar Tarazi, is directly complicit in their crimes and is facing criminal charges and bar sanctions as well.
Yesterday, the Orlando Sentinel published the second article in the past week disclosing alleged recorded conversations between the current Global Revolution Church officials, Brian Smith, Tom Sanchez and Jeff Parker (aka the “Judas Three”) and the former pastors of the church, Blake and Beverly Lorenz. The Judas Three have submitted affidavits through Tarazi with the Ohio court. The conversations were recorded illegally, as Florida law requires all parties being taped to be notified they are being recorded. A criminal complaint for their illegal wiretapping has already been filed with the Orlando Police Department.
Now here's what the Columbus Dispatch and Orlando Sentinel conveniently forgot to report about their supposed "star witnesses" in the case.
Perhaps the most disturbing element to the crimes committed by Brian Smith, Tom Sanchez and Jeff Parker is that they have illegally embezzled and/or misappropriated funds sent to the church from all over the country by Rifqa's supporters intended for Rifqa’s legal defense fund. The Orlando law firm overseeing her defense fund, Fowler, O'Quinn, Feeney & Sneed, confirmed this week that they have not found any records of EVER receiving any monies from Global Revolution Church sent to the church designated for Rifqa’s legal defense. I have been provided copies of checks sent to the church designated to Rifqa's defense fund, confirming that monies were in fact received, but never forwarded to Fowler, O'Quinn, Feeney & Sneed.
Anyone who sent checks to the Global Revolution Church or transferred money through the church's PayPal account since August for Rifqa's defense is encouraged to contact the Orlando Police Department at 321-235-5300 (complaint desk) to report the funds missing.
The “Judas Three” are also facing federal mail tampering charges. After the trio engineered a church leadership coup and fired the Lorenzs back in September, they intercepted personal mail intended for the Lorenzs sent to the church post office box. Instead of forwarding the mail to the Lorenz’s in accordance with federal law, they sent the mail to CAIR attorney Omar Tarazi, who is representing Rifqa's parents in Ohio. Tarazi, knowing that the mail had been illegally obtained, then attempted to use this purloined correspondence to sabotage negotiations with Rifqa's legal team, making him an accessory after the fact to the Judas Three's felonious mail tampering. Additionally, Tarazi never notified postal authorities of the crime as required of an officer of the court. The mail tampering was attested to in an affidavit submitted to the Ohio court last month by Blake Lorenz (posted at Atlas Shrugs).
Anyone who sent mail to the Lorenzs at the Global Revolution Church address are directed towards the USPS website to file a complaint to assist the pending federal mail tampering investigation.
The Judas Three are also facing a lawsuit from former church officials who claim that the trio held corporate meetings for the church without the knowledge or notification of other corporate officers for which there are no notices, meeting minutes or agendas; conducted corporate business without authorization; and submitted falsified information to the state of Florida in order to wrest control of the corporation from other church officers. Based on this information, the Lorenzs are considering a separate lawsuit that they were illegally fired by the trio.
The selective reporting by the Dispatch’s Meredith “Hijab” Heagney and the Sentinel’s Amy Edwards is no surprise. Their persistent bias in “reporting” on Rifqa’s plight from the beginning of the affair has already been widely discussed here at the Jawa Report and elsewhere (e.g. Atlas Shrugs and JihadWatch). The actions of the Judas Three and their open alliance with CAIR appear to be an effort to cover up possible financial and other crimes. And it seems evident now, considering the settlement earlier this week in Rifqa’s case, that CAIR’s strategy in the wake of that stunning legal defeat is to attack in the media and the courts those who helped Rifqa escape an abusive home and the terror-tied Muslim community in Ohio. That the media, Tarazi and the Judas Three have banded together in a criminal enterprise should be no surprise to anyone as well.
We’ll keep you posted on the pending criminal charges and lawsuits against Brian Smith, Tom Sanchez, Jeff Parker and CAIR attorney Omar Tarazi.
[The email from Fowler, O'Quinn, Feeney & Sneed, who is overseeing Rifqa's defense fund, confirming they have no records of receiving money from Global Revolution Church (now controlled entirely by Smith, Sanchez and Parker) is below the fold.]

Another update on Rifqa Bary, teenage girl who converted from Islam to Christianity.

The trial of Rifqa Bary is over. The judge has ruled in Family Court in Columbus, Ohio that Rifqa will remain a ward of the state and stay in a foster home until she is 18 next August. Most importantly, Rifqa does not have to return to her devout Muslim parents who threatened to kill her for insulting their Islamic beliefs. This does not guarantee that Rifqa will ever be completely safe because when she chose to become a Christian four years ago she also became an Apostate which is the greatest crime under Islamic Sharia Law and is punishable by death by any Muslim anywhere. Rifqa's parents who face deportation back to Sri Lanka since their remain in America on expired visas, are both members of the extremist Noor Mosque in Hilliard, Ohio. The court that granted Rifqa the right to safety from her parents did not allow testimony at her trial about the radical pro-terrorist activities documented at the Noor Mosque. Previous posts here and elsewhere at Atlas Shrugs contain details of these radical activities which are also under investigation by the FBI. Details about the Noor Mosque are contained in my blog from Saturday, November 14, 2009,  Rifqa Bary must be given asylum  and Details about Rifqa Bary’s case the media didn’t report posted Thursday, October 15, 2009.
Muslim convert to Christianity flees Columbus, Ohio home in fear of her life.
This is the story of a 17-year old girl named Rifqa Bary who was born in Sri Lanka and came to America with her family about 8 years ago. She was raised in a devout Muslim home in Columbus, Ohio. The Bary family attended the American Islamic Waqf Noor Islamic Cultural Center mosque in Dublin, Ohio which has been the location for numerous radical Muslim affairs. See Central Ohioans Against Terrorism web site:

I am thankful for Rifqa's new found safety and hope God's angels stand over her and protect her.

Brown wins in Massachusetts. Thoughts of November panic Democrats.

The effort to Take Back America got off to a great start on Tuesday. Yes it is true, Massachusetts, the most liberal "Blue State" state of the Union, the home turf of the late Ted Kennedy - hero of Chappaquidick and every soldier's hero of Vietnam, Sen. John Kerry, has elected a REPUBLICAN to the United States Senate. Scott Brown sailed to victory with a 5% lead over state Attorney General Martha Coakley with a clear majority throughout the state except the cities of Boston and Springfield. The liberal news media is beyond belief over this outrageous act of contempt by the voters. One media commentator even referred to Scott Brown as a Republican Insurgent, a term that used to be applied to radical Muslims in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The pro-Democrat News Media has been looking to explain this astounding event in Massachusetts in ways that would not embarrass the mainstream Democrats. They have decided it was all Martha Coakley's fault that she lost the election. It is OK for Democrats to ask everyone to share the blame but they always excuse themselves. Yeah, Martha screwed up quite a bit, mostly because she acted like a stuck up liberal snob like when she said, as quoted by her staunch supporter the Boston Globe:

"As opposed to standing outside Fenway Park? In the cold? Shaking hands?’’ she fires back, in an apparent reference to a Brown online video of him doing just that. Coakley bristles at the suggestion that, with so little time left, in an election with such high stakes, she is being too passive."

What caught the east coast liberal establishment by surprise was the plain-talking state representative, with no state-wide name recognition, who drove across Massachusetts in his pickup truck meeting ordinary folks, listening to their problems and shaking their hands and promising to stand up for them. That isn't the way the rich and powerful behave. Indeed, it was the sheer arrogance of wealth and power that brought down the Democrat movement in Massachusetts and they all know this even if they refuse to admit it publicly. Inspired by an omnipotent, narcissistic ruler with an enormous ego who most likely believes some of the media hype about his messianic image as The Spoken Word Of Truth, the Democrats became intoxicated with their power over the government and the people with their majority control of Congress.

They felt they could do whatever they wanted and in a mad rush to reshape America the Democrats showed us what they really were: A totally corrupt political party with no morals or principles. And the mostly Christian, mostly conservative, mostly patriotic citizens revolted. Did the Democrats take notice of the two million protesters who came from all over America to Washington on September 12, 2009 or did they believe their liberal white washing mainstream media who minimized the event? Apparently, a few Democrats read the writing on the wall and decided the time had come to end their careers. Two U.S. Senators and a half dozen Congressman, all Democrats, said they were not going to waste their time getting re-elected in November. Following Scott Brown's victory in Massachusetts a lot more will be making a new assessment on their future.

As Ann Coulter pointed out in her latest column:
Sen. Ben Nelson, Democrat of Nebraska, won his last election in 2006 by 28 points -- the largest margin for a Democratic Senate candidate in that state in a quarter-century. Since voting for the Senate health care bill last Christmas, the once-bulletproof Sen. Nelson not only gets booed out of Omaha pizzerias, but he has also seen his job approval rating fall to 42 percent and his disapproval rating soar to 48 percent. (Meanwhile, the junior senator from Nebraska, Mike Johanns, who voted against the bill, has a job approval rating of 63 percent.)
What we are seeing is a total repudiation of of Barack Hussein Obama's Marxist-Socialist, anti-American power grab and the rest of the left-wing Democrat's policies as well. The tidal wave is getting larger and has already swept across three states and by the time the November mid-term elections come around the effect will be astounding.
This screen shot of the Boston Herald's web page tells everything.

A little update to the old sailors rhyme: Red skies at night, a sailor's delight. Red skies in the morning, Democrats warning. On Tuesday, in Massachusetts, the sky was red all day long and those "Blue State" Democrats were all feeling mighty "blue".

Obama draws hecklers in Boston. Brown gets an overflow crowd in Worcester.

Obama went to Boston yesterday to campaign for Martha Coakley and he got heckled. And the heckling went on for a quite some time.

The blog Instapundit reports: "And I guess they were right to worry about hecklers. “The big news here isn’t so much that a heckler appeared at a Coakley rally — with passions this high, it would have been news if one hadn’t — but that a series of hecklers threw Obama so far off his stride. It didn’t matter to the people who attended this rally, of course, but it’s a bit strange to see an experienced politician allow a couple of loud voices to interrupt for as long as this goes … and then to ask ‘Where were we?’”

FOX News reported that he couldn't even fill the hall. “It holds 3,000 and frankly only 2,000 to 2,500 showed up.” And listen to the description of the Scott brown supporters lining the highway. Didn't I predict that his effort would backfire? The Obamanation will soon turn into the Democrats worst nightmare.

"A REPORT FROM THE SCOTT BROWN RALLY AT WORCESTER: “It’s an absolute mob scene. The police have closed off the streets. It’s mind blowing. The hall is already full, and it holds 3,000 people. There may be another 1,000 people outside.” Meanwhile, reader Sean Fitzpatrick writes to the blog Instapundit: “Pictures don’t do justice. Nothing like this in Mass since JFK. Worcester rally starts in thirty minutes and the streets are already packed.” Here’s a pic."

"UPDATE: Fitzpatrick send the Instapundit blog another picture from inside the hall, and comments: “If the Brown campaign were worried that they wouldn’t fill the hall then they needn’t have. It is standing room only and the hall management is concerned about OVERcrowding.”"

New poll shows Scott Brown's lead has jumped to 5%

Public Policy Polling has just released its final poll for the Massachusetts Special Election for U.S. Senate.  And Scott Brown has jumped to a 5% lead - 51%-46%.  This is the largest lead he has enjoyed in the polls in this entire campaign.
Friends, this is it.  Our final push to win this campaign.
We need your support in this last push.  Either Volunteer from Home or Make a Contribution - or do both.
If you want to know why we here at the Tea Party Express have been working so hard to support Scott Brown, this sentence from yesterday's Boston Globe probably sums it up better than anything else:
"Political pundits are saying a victory by Brown could put Obama's entire agenda in Washington in jeopardy and foreshadow a seismic political shift in Washington toward the GOP."
We're in the final push of our $100,000 "Money Bomb" effort for our Independent Expenditure campaign supporting Scott Brown.
Today is the very last day for us to receive contributions online and earmark them for our campaign.
To reach our goal of $100,000 we still need 297 people who can afford to make a contribution of $100 or more. And we're hoping some of you will be able to afford a $500, $1,000 or $5,000 contribution (the maximum allowed in this race).
You can make a contribution for as little as $5 up to the maximum allowed $5,000 to our campaign effort for Scott Brown - HERE.

Tora! Tora! Tora! in Massachusetts.

In the final scene of the 1970 movie Tora! Tora! Tora! about the Japanese sneak attack on Pearl Harbor, Admiral Yamamoto, who planned and carried out the attack, says to a subordinate, "I fear all we have done is awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve."

We all know how the war with Japan ended four years after their attack. We vaporized two of their cities with atomic bombs. So much for American's terrible resolve!

Today, a year after the Democrats took control of America, they have revealed the true nature of their drunken libido by unleashing their intoxicated feeling of power. They have enjoyed their moment of glory and now the payback begins.

I cannot help but think many followers of this left-wing movement are now looking at the American voters in the same light as Admiral Yamamoto looked at America's resolve. The massive TEA Party movement and the Take Back America theme that brought over 2-million protesters to Washington, D.C. on September 12th last year have energized an enormous anti-Democrat force that has seen two Democrat governors lose their bid for re-election and two Democrat Senators and half a dozen Democrat Congressman decide not to run for re-election in November. Now we have the special election on Tuesday, January 19th for the U.S. Senate seat in Massachusetts to fill the vacancy after Ted Kennedy died of brain cancer. In a state that numbers Democrats 3 to 1 over Republicans, the Democrat candidate is trailing behind in the polls. In a state so liberal the voters, who couldn't hold Ted Kennedy accountable for his cowardly actions at Chappaquidick, are now dumping Democrat Coakley in favor of Republican Scott Brown. So popular has this race become that Republican Scott Brown has been getting a million dollars a day in campaign contributions from everywhere.

So desperate are the Democrats to shore up Martha Coakley's failing campaign they have decided to bring in the big guns to make one final push. Their great leader Obama, who will undoubtedly remind everyone of his own importance as he usually does wherever he speaks and Bill Clinton, who will take time off from his duties as special envoy to the U.N. that is supposed to be helping the earthquake victims in Haiti, will both make campaign appearances. I suspect their attempts will backfire. The voters aren't listening to this bull-shit anymore.

News media shock over Massachusetts Senate race.

British newspaper The Guardian reports this story from The Associated Press reported today:
Analysis: Voter ire evident in Mass. Senate race
By LIZ SIDOTI AP National Political Writer The Associated Press

WASHINGTON (AP) — The ill winds of an angry electorate are blowing against Democrats, the warning signs clear in a closer-than-expected Massachusetts Senate race that may doom President Barack Obama's health care agenda and foreshadow the party's election prospects this fall.

Anti-incumbent, anti-establishment sentiment is rampant. Independents are leaving Obama. Republicans are energized. Democrats are subdued. None of it bodes well for the party in power.

"It's going to be a hard November for Democrats," Howard Dean, the Democratic Party chairman in the 2006 and 2008 elections when the party took control of the White House and Congress, told The Associated Press in an interview. "Our base is demoralized."
Beltway Confidential has this story:
Massachusetts: 'Bottom has fallen out' of Coakley's polls; Dems prepare to explain defeat, protect Obama

Here in Massachusetts, as well as in Washington, a growing sense of gloom is setting in among Democrats about the fortunes of Democratic Senate candidate Martha Coakley. "I have heard that in the last two days the bottom has fallen out of her poll numbers," says one well-connected Democratic strategist. In her own polling, Coakley is said to be around five points behind Republican Scott Brown. "If she's not six or eight ahead going into the election, all the intensity is on the other side in terms of turnout," the Democrat says. "So right now, she is destined to lose."
Gateway Pundit carried this story:

The (democ)rats are jumping ship.

One in five democrats in Massachusetts is going with Scott Brown.
And, there’s more bad news for democrat Martha Coakley…
Scott Brown is leading in the absentee voting 58-42. 9% of registered voters said they have already cast a ballot.
Real Clear Politics reported:

Coakley loses one-in-five Democrats to Brown, while the Republican state senator has 94 percent of Republicans behind him. Brown has a commanding 58-37 advantage among “unenrolled” voters, mainly independents and those who prefer not to register affiliation with the major parties.
A trend worth noting as well: 9 percent of voters say they’d already cast a ballot through absentee voting. Brown leads Coakley among this group 58-42.
And if anyone doubts how desperate the Democrats are getting up in Massachusetts, here are two stories about Bill Clinton, the recently appointed Special  Envoy for the United Nation Haiti Relief, taking time off from his pressing needs to go on the campaign trail for Martha Coakley.
Clinton: Haiti relief, Dem politicking are 'two sides of the same coin'

Some observers have questioned why former President Bill Clinton, who is the United Nations special envoy for Haiti, took time away from earthquake relief efforts to travel to Massachusetts to campaign for Martha Coakley, the Democratic candidate for Senate. Clinton appeared at two rallies Friday in an effort to shore up Coakley's faltering campaign and stop the momentum of Republican opponent Scott Brown.

On Mass. campaign trail, National Review catches up with the UN Envoy to Haiti

Robert Costa of National Review ran into Bill Clinton in Massachusetts today and spoke with him as he stumped for Democratic Senate candidate Martha Coakley:
When I told him that some had been critical of his decision to stump for Coakley while hundreds of thousands are still trapped under rubble, he responded with annoyance: “Who?” he challenged, “who is criticizing me? It’s your problem if you can’t see how these things aren’t mutually exclusive.” Electing Coakley, he said, will “help lead to good governance” that will support Haiti while it rebuilds.
That's some logic.

Will the Libertarian candidate in Massachusetts become the spoiler?

There is an old expression that says: "To cut off your nose to spite your face." and it means to do something stupid and drastic against your own best interests. I pray to God that will not happen on Tuesday, January 19th, in the special election in Massachusetts when the voters will elect a new U.S. Senator to fill the open seat after the ultra-liberal Democrat Ted Kennedy died of brain cancer. As of last last week the political world was shocked to learn that an unknown Republican Scott Brown had surged ahead in the polls and took a 4% lead over Democrat Martha Coakley. Trailing way behind with only 3% was a Libertarian candidate named Joe Kennedy who is no relation to any of the Kennedy family in Hyannis Port. Since the polls show the Republican to be only 4% ahead of the Democrat there exists an outside chance that voters who go to the polls will either become confused over the Kennedy name on the ballot or cast a vote for him out of respect for their favorite son. This is the possibility that has always existed with third-party candidates because sometimes, in spite of their good intentions, in a tight race they help the bad guys get elected by taking votes away from the better candidate.

The presence of third-party candidates in a tight race also presents an opportunity for the less appealing candidate to exploit the situation for their own gain. Simply throw some campaign funds at that candidate to help get his message out and acquire a few more votes. Any anti-Democrat vote cast in favor of Joe Kennedy will take away votes for Scott Brown and the only one who will benefit will be Martha Coakley.

In 1992 we saw how Ross Perot, who ran for president because he disliked George Bush, managed to get 19% of the vote and help elect Democrats Bill and Hillary Clinton. That travesty led to an upsurge of radical Muslim terrorist attacks around the world financed by Osama Bin Laden. And wasn't it during the Clinton era that Sudan offered Bin Laden to Clinton and he refused to take him. How many Americans at home and in the military have died as a result of that? Sometimes, even the smallest things have a great impact on the course of history.

I pray to God that the voters in Massachusetts do not fall for this and continue to support Scott Brown and no one else. This election is crucial to stopping Barack Hussein Obama's Marxist/Socialist health care reform and the Democrats, who invented methods to steal elections, are desperate to win this one. One of the most encouraging pieces of news has been that since word of the tight race hit the news wires Scott Brown's campaign raised over one-million dollars every day last week. I can speak of this personally because his campaign contribution web site was so busy it kept timing out before I was able to get through. Here is the link to the Scott Brown web site:
http://www.brownforussenate.com/

And here is a video ad from the TEA Party Express endorsement.

Hear the sound of the crushing tidal wave in Massachusetts.

America's first TEA Party was held in Massachusetts in the city of Boston. They held another TEA Party in Washington, D.C. on September 12, 2009 and a few million American's came from all over the country to be there. They had a message to tell the bureaucracy:  they had come to Take Back America. Now in Massachusetts another revolution is taking place. In one of the Democrat's biggest strongholds, in a state with 65% registered Democrats, a Republican named Scott Brown stands on the brink of being elected U.S. Senator. Watch the video, and turn up your speakers.

The hatred for Obama's Marxist/Socialist health-care plan been swelling for many months. If Scott Brown wins the special election on Tuesday, January 19th, then every Democrat running for election in November will be in trouble. A tidal wave of anti-Democrat resentment will sweep across our nation.

Sometimes it's fun to watch the public trial of a terrorist.

I don't know how you'll take this but I thought it was hilarious. My friends over at the Bare Naked Islam web site have found this story reported in the London Times over in Great Britain about an American-educated Pakistani scientist turned al-Qaeda terrorist about to go on trial in New York City. Now we would never have gotten to hear her complaints if the trial was in Guantanamo. Of course this raises another question about why our own news media didn't report this story. Any time you can get a low-life Muslim terrorist to squeal in a courtroom its a good time.

Pakistani al-Qaeda operative on trial in New York demands NO JOOOOOOOOOS on the jury!

A Pakistani scientist and al-Qaeda associate charged with shooting at a team of FBI agents has demanded that Jews should be excluded from the jury at her trial in NY. Aafia Siddiqui called for jurors to undergo genetic testing in an outburst in federal court in Manhattan yesterday. “If they have a Zionist or Israeli background . . . they are all mad at me,” Ms Siddiqui, an American-educated neuroscientist, said. “I have a feeling everyone here is them [sic] — subject to genetic testing. They should be excluded if you want to be fair,” she told the judge.

Prosecutors say that Ms Siddiqui, 37, who has a biology degree from the prestigious Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a PhD from Brandeis University, fled the US in 2003 after marrying an al-Qaeda operative.
She was arrested outside an Afghan government compound in Ghazni province, allegedly carrying two lb of poisonous sodium cyanide and information on chemical, biological and radiological weapons, as well as descriptions of US landmarks such as Wall Street and the Statue of Liberty.
She is charged with allegedly grabbing a US Army officer’s M4 rifle and shooting at a team of FBI agents who were trying to question her on July 18, 2008. She was shot in the stomach in the exchange of fire and taken to the US a few weeks later to face federal charges of attempted murder and assault.
US officials allege that Ms Siddiqui has links to top al-Qaeda suspects. They say that the mother of three is married to Ali Abd al-Aziz Ali, known as Ammar al-Blackuch, a nephew of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the self-proclaimed mastermind of the September 11 terror attacks, and a cousin of Ramzi Yousef, who was convicted of the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Centre in New York.
Ms Siddiqui, who wore a white scarf covering her face in court, vowed not to co-operate with the trial. “I’m boycotting the trial, just to let all of you know,” she said.  “I’m out of this,” she added. “I don’t trust you,” she told the judge at one point before the potential jurors packed the courtroom. The outburst was the latest of a series of courtroom rants by Ms Siddiqui, who has also tried to fire her lawyers.
Her trial had been delayed for psychiatric tests, but most concluded that she was faking mental illness. After jury selection is complete, opening arguments will begin on Tuesday. TIMES ONLINE

Will we see a miracle in Massachusetts?

Has the tidal wave of anti-Democrat resentment finally arrived? In a story this morning in the Boston Herald, it was reported that a recent poll has revealed Republican Scott Brown now has a 4% lead over Democrat Martha Coakley. This poll indicated a 19% surge for Mr. Brown who had been trailing Coakley as recently as a month ago. This is a three way race for U.S. Senator to fill the vacancy after the hero of Chappaquidick, Ted Kennedy died of brain cancer. The poll shows Republican Scott Brown with 50%, Democrat Martha Coakley with 46% and Libertarian Joseph L. Kennedy, no relation to Ted, with 3% and 1% undecided. The very low number of undecided voters in the poll is just as significant as the poll results for the Libertarian candidate as it is suspected that many of those leaning to the Libertarian candidate may cast their votes for the Republican next week on January 18th.

Poll shocker: Scott Brown surges ahead in Senate race.

By Jessica Van Sack
Friday, January 15, 2010

Riding a wave of opposition to Democratic health-care reform, GOP upstart Scott Brown is leading in the U.S. Senate race, raising the odds of a historic upset that would reverberate all the way to the White House, a new poll shows.

Although Brown’s 4-point lead over Democrat Martha Coakley is within the Suffolk University/7News survey’s margin of error, the underdog’s position at the top of the results stunned even pollster David Paleologos.

“It’s a Brown-out,” said Paleologos, director of Suffolk’s Political Research Center. “It’s a massive change in the political landscape.”
Thanks in part to the massive nation-wide protests by participants in the TEA Parties (Taxed Enough Already) last year, the American public has awakened from its stupor that allowed the Democrats to gain control of the Federal government. Intoxicated with their own power to do whatever they wanted, the Democrats began to reveal their true nature with a frantic race to pass the most Marxist/Socialist legislative transformation of the American Republic ever seen in our nation's history. Last year the first ripples of voter payback came when the solidly Democrat state of New Jersey elected a Republican governor in a landslide victory. On that same day, the state of Virginia voted in a Republican governor. In upstate New York, in the 23rd Congressional District race, the Democrat candidate was narrowly elected over the Conservative Party candidate after the left-wing Republican candidate dropped out of the race and threw her votes to the liberal Democrat.
The warning signs of voter resentment toward Democrats across the country has loomed heavily on the upcoming November elections and several key Democrats have already withdrawn their reelection bids. If Scott Brown wins the special election on Tuesday in Massachusetts it will send a clear signal that the Democrats are doomed. Thank God for giving our country a second chance to Take Back America.
UPDATE, Friday, 3:00PM: The White House has acknowledged the precarious position of Martha Coakley and the threat her loss in this special election will have to their plans to destroy America. Obama, himself, will make a personal visit on Sunday to Massachusetts to resurrect the failing Democrat's campaign. I wonder if he believes in the media-generated rumor that he was The Chosen One, and will use his messianic power to bring Martha Coakley back to life?
