He calls himself a Muslim soldier but in spite of being a naturalized American citizen, Faisal Shahzad, the man who constructed the Times Square bomb with the aid of Pakistani Taliban terrorists, says he does not owe allegiance to America.
"If I'm given 1,000 lives I will sacrifice them all for the life of Allah," he said at his sentencing hearing in U.S. District Court in New York City. "How can I be judged by a court that does not understand the suffering of my people?"
If you look at history a bit closer you may find that radical Muslim terrorists kill more Muslims and inflict more hardships and suffering on more Muslims than anyone else.
Shahzad, a 31-year-old former budget analyst from Connecticut who was born in Pakistan, said the: "Koran gives us the right to defend. And that's all I'm doing."
U.S. District Judge Miriam Goldman Cedarbaum asked Faisal Shahzad if he had sworn allegiance to the United States when he became a citizen last year.
"I did swear but I did not mean it," said Shahzad.
He added: "We do not accept your democracy or your freedom because we already have Sharia law and freedom."
"Brace yourselves, because the war with Muslims has just begun," Shahzad, 31, warned U.S. District Judge Miriam Cedarbaum. "Consider me only a first droplet of the flood that will follow me."
The judge sentenced Shahzad to life in prison without the possibility of parole for each count of the charges to which he plead guilty.
"The defendant has expressed his total lack of remorse, and his desire if given the opportunity to repeat the crime," she said. As she imposed six life sentences, Shahzad twice pointed upward and said, "Allahu Akbar (God is great)."
The only credit Faisal Shahzad deserves is for his honesty. He admits that his allegiance to America was superseded by his Muslim faith and to Islamic Sharia Law. He admits that what he planned to do was for Allah and his religion. The greater question that remains is how many more Muslims in America secretly agree with him.
