Interfaith group in California claims to read 6 verses in Koran promoting harmony. Ignores passages about violence.

The Sacramento Bee newspaper in Sacramento, California has reported that a group of more than 100 people representing “Jewish, Catholic, Protestant, B'hai, Mormon, Sikh, Vedic Druid  and Muslim beliefs read scriptures from the great religious texts – including six verses from the Quran calling for all faiths to live in harmony.” The group assembled in the Catholic Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament last Saturday and later released peace doves replicating the flower-power, hippie generation many years ago.

A challenge immediately went among the knowledgeable anti-Jihadist community asking that anyone who knows which verses in the Koran that promotes such harmony among other religions to please let everyone in on the big secret.

Perhaps if these noble clergy in California had begun their reading from the Koran by reciting Sura: 17:46 That says, according to the three authoritative translations from the University of Southern California’s Center for Muslim-Jewish Engagement that are used throughout this blog:

YUSUFALI: And We put coverings over their hearts (and minds) lest they should understand the Qur'an, and deafness into their ears: when thou dost commemorate thy Lord and Him alone in the Qur'an, they turn on their backs, fleeing (from the Truth).
PICKTHAL: And We place upon their hearts veils lest they should understand it, and in their ears a deafness; and when thou makest mention of thy Lord alone in the Qur'an, they turn their backs in aversion.
SHAKIR: And We have placed coverings on their hearts and a heaviness in their ears lest they understand it, and when you mention your Lord alone in the Quran they turn their backs in aversion.

The Koran contains instructions to Muslims, called the Believers about being friendly with Christians and Jews who are also referred to as the Unbelievers and People of the Book. This fact alone should forewarn anyone who invites them to an interfaith service.

Sura 005.051
YUSUFALI: O ye who believe! take not the Jews and the Christians for your friends and protectors: They are but friends and protectors to each other. And he amongst you that turns to them (for friendship) is of them. Verily Allah guideth not a people unjust.
PICKTHAL: O ye who believe! Take not the Jews and the Christians for friends. They are friends one to another. He among you who taketh them for friends is (one) of them. Lo! Allah guideth not wrongdoing folk.
SHAKIR: O you who believe! do not take the Jews and the Christians for friends; they are friends of each other; and whoever amongst you takes them for a friend, then surely he is one of them; surely Allah does not guide the unjust people.

Sura 003.028
YUSUFALI: Let not the believers Take for friends or helpers Unbelievers rather than believers: if any do that, in nothing will there be help from Allah: except by way of precaution, that ye may Guard yourselves from them. But Allah cautions you (To remember) Himself; for the final goal is to Allah.
PICKTHAL: Let not the believers take disbelievers for their friends in preference to believers. Whoso doeth that hath no connection with Allah unless (it be) that ye but guard yourselves against them, taking (as it were) security. Allah biddeth you beware (only) of Himself. Unto Allah is the journeying.
SHAKIR: Let not the believers take the unbelievers for friends rather than believers; and whoever does this, he shall have nothing of (the guardianship of) Allah, but you should guard yourselves against them, guarding carefully; and Allah makes you cautious of (retribution from) Himself; and to Allah is the eventual coming.

Of course, you cannot convince people you belong to a Religion of Peace if you tell them how violently you plan to wage war against them if they don’t abandon their own faiths and “Submit” to Islam. The only version of the Qur’an used everywhere in the world (yes, here in America, as well)  is quite specific about the plans handed down to Muslims.

Sura: 009.029
YUSUFALI: Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.
PICKTHAL: Fight against such of those who have been given the Scripture as believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, and forbid not that which Allah hath forbidden by His messenger, and follow not the Religion of Truth, until they pay the tribute readily, being brought low.
SHAKIR: Fight those who do not believe in Allah, nor in the latter day, nor do they prohibit what Allah and His Messenger have prohibited, nor follow the religion of truth, out of those who have been given the Book, until they pay the tax in acknowledgment of superiority and they are in a state of subjection.

According to the Religion of Peace web site, in the Qur'an Sura: 9:29, "Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued."  "People of the Book" refers to Christians and Jews.  This was one of the final "revelations" from Allah and it set in motion the tenacious military expansion, in which Muhammad's companions managed to conquer two-thirds of the Christian world in just the next 100 years.  Islam is intended to dominate all other people and faiths.

Diversity is supposed to work in both directions, but it seems that many dimwitted Christian and Jewish clergy don’t ask why it is there are Muslim clerics invited into Christian churches and Jewish temples but ther never seems to be any Christian clergy or Jewish Rabbis invited to preach their gospels inside any mosques to the assembled Muslims. Perhaps we need to look at the Qur’an once again to find the answer. Yes, here it is:

Sura: 025.052
YUSUFALI: Therefore listen not to the Unbelievers, but strive against them with the utmost strenuousness, with the (Qur'an).
PICKTHAL: So obey not the disbelievers, but strive against them herewith with a great endeavour.
SHAKIR: So do not follow the unbelievers, and strive against them a mighty striving with it.

A condensed version of three consecutive verses of the Qur’an, Suras 33.060, 33.061 and 33.062 reveal even more information about how Muslims feel about their non-Muslim neighbors. Here is the complete text:

Sura: 033.060
YUSUFALI: Truly, if the Hypocrites, and those in whose hearts is a disease, and those who stir up sedition in the City, desist not, We shall certainly stir thee up against them: Then will they not be able to stay in it as thy neighbours for any length of time:
PICKTHAL: If the hypocrites, and those in whose hearts is a disease, and the alarmists in the city do not cease, We verily shall urge thee on against them, then they will be your neighbours in it but a little while.
SHAKIR: If the hypocrites and those in whose hearts is a disease and the agitators in the city do not desist, We shall most certainly set you over them, then they shall not be your neighbors in it but for a little while;

Sura:033.061
YUSUFALI: They shall have a curse on them: whenever they are found, they shall be seized and slain (without mercy).
PICKTHAL: Accursed, they will be seized wherever found and slain with a (fierce) slaughter.
SHAKIR: Cursed: wherever they are found they shall be seized and murdered, a (horrible) murdering.

Sura: 033.062
YUSUFALI: (Such was) the practice (approved) of Allah among those who lived aforetime: No change wilt thou find in the practice (approved) of Allah.
PICKTHAL: That was the way of Allah in the case of those who passed away of old; thou wilt not find for the way of Allah aught of power to change.
SHAKIR: (Such has been) the course of Allah with respect to those who have gone before; and you shall not find any change in the course of Allah.

Here is the condensed and abridged version from the Religion of Peace:

Qur'an (33:60-62) - "If the hypocrites, and those in whose hearts is a disease, and the alarmists in the city do not cease, We verily shall urge thee on against them, then they will be your neighbors in it but a little while.  Accursed, they will be seized wherever found and slain with a (fierce) slaughter."   This passage sanctions the slaughter (rendered "merciless" and "horrible murder" in other translations) against three groups: Hypocrites (Muslims who don't act like Muslims should), those with "diseased hearts" (which include Jews and Christians 5:51-52), and "alarmists" or "agitators who include those who merely speak out against Islam, according to Muhammad's biographers.  It is worth noting that the victims are to be sought out by Muslims, which is what today's terrorists do.

Qur'an (61:4) - "Surely Allah loves those who fight in His way"  Religion of Peace, indeed!

Bukhari {Hadith}  (8:387) - Allah's Apostle said, "I have been ordered to fight the people till they say: 'None has the right to be worshipped but Allah

Sura 005.033
YUSUFALI: The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger, and strive with might and main for mischief through the land is: execution, or crucifixion, or the cutting off of hands and feet from opposite sides, or exile from the land: that is their disgrace in this world, and a heavy punishment is theirs in the Hereafter;
PICKTHAL: The only reward of those who make war upon Allah and His messenger and strive after corruption in the land will be that they will be killed or crucified, or have their hands and feet on alternate sides cut off, or will be expelled out of the land. Such will be their degradation in the world, and in the Hereafter theirs will be an awful doom;
SHAKIR: The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His messenger and strive to make mischief in the land is only this, that they should be murdered or crucified or their hands and their feet should be cut off on opposite sides or they should be imprisoned; this shall be as a disgrace for them in this world, and in the hereafter they shall have a grievous chastisement,

Sura 005.034
YUSUFALI: Except for those who repent before they fall into your power: in that case, know that Allah is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful.
PICKTHAL: Save those who repent before ye overpower them. For know that Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.
SHAKIR: Except those who repent before you have them in your power; so know that Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.

The depth of our misunderstanding of Islam is staggering when we compare the laws of our Republic against the Culture of Islam and its dominating Sharia Law. Many years ago, long before the greater public fully grasped the intentions of Islam on September 11, 2001, our government had suspicions about Arab terrorist organizations operating in the United States. The most inconceivable act that Muslims take for granted within their families is something called an honor killing. There is a  belief that all Muslims must follow every aspect of the Islamic culture and that any child that deviates from that culture and chooses to live the life of what we consider a normal childhood will bring dishonor upon the Muslim family and disgrace among other Muslims. This belief is so strong that it will bring a parent to murder his or her child to eliminate that dishonor. These honor killings are too often misidentified in America as domestic violence or child abuse so the statistics relating back to their Muslim origins is sometimes lost. Nothing was more convincing than one such honor killing that took place in or around St. Louis in 1989 and the acceptance of it being a normal occurrence by a Muslim family member as reported by the NY Times, Terror and Death at Home Are Caught in F.B.I. Tape on October 28, 1991. The transcripts of what was caught on the tapes is so chilling you must visit the NY Times web site and read it.

Sometime around 1989 the Federal Bureau of Investigation planted listening devices in the tiny apartment of a Palestinian-American living in St. Louis who was suspected of criminal activities with the Palestine Liberation Organization. What the FBI managed to tape record was the death screams of a teen-age girl being stabbed to death by her father while her mother held her down during an honor killing.  The tapes were played in court and the jury convicted both parents Zein and Maria Isa of murder. On the tapes were the discussion that led up to the killing in which the girls father says: “"Here, listen, my dear daughter, do you know that this is the last day. Tonight, you're going to die?" Tina Isa replies: “Huh?” Her father says: “Do you know that you are going to die tonight?” Then while Maria Isa holds her daughter, Zein Isa stabs her 4 times and says: “Die! Die quickly!”

What speaks more about how Muslims justify such honor killings was revealed by a family friend who spoke after both parents were convicted. The NY Times writes:

“After the verdicts were read, an agitated family friend who would give her name only as Mrs. Abraham expressed her dismay at what she saw as the jury's failure to acknowledge the Palestinian culture. "I feel it's not right. We follow our religion," said Mrs. Abraham. She said the Isas had to discipline their daughter or lose respect. "They'd be embarrassed in front of everybody in the country like somebody when they go without their clothes outside."

Yes, a teenage girl living in an American city who simply wanted to have a part time job and some friends most certainly brought grave dishonor of this righteous Muslim family. So much dishonor that both the mother and father believed they had the duty bound right to kill her.
