How to understand Obama's double-talk when he says: " We’re Not Taking Away Anyone’s Gun Rights"

Just for starters, the Second Amendment of the United States Constitution says: "A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed." The U.S. Supreme Court has twice ruled on the issue of what "infringed" means. Democratic Socialist, Communist mentored Barack Hussein Obama does not understand or will not admit that he understands what this means. So Obama spews out rhetoric that is filled with double-talk and the news media sucks it up and dares not to question a word. Just as no one asked Obama to explain what he meant when he said he was going to "Fundamentally change America." And how many people today wish they knew what he meant by that? So let me try to offer my explanation to what Barry Soetoro //aka// Barack Hussein Obama is saying.

Compiled and placed in chronological order from the web sites Townhall, Gun Blast.com and the Free Republic.com who did an excellent job finding most of these quotes from Obama over the years. Some of the earlier quotes before the start of the presidential campaign in 2008 were quite candid and hardly need any explanation. The later one's were more obscure and vague and definitely need to be examined.
Of course, we all remember Joe Biden's famous statement from the 2008 campaign.
Flashback – Joe Biden in 2008: “I Guarantee You Barack Obama Ain’t Taking My Shotguns” (Video)
Posted by Jim Hoft on Thursday, January 10, 2013, 11:38 AM
Back in 2008 Joe Biden guaranteed the American public that Obama would not take your guns.

“Don’t buy that malarkey.”

But that was in 2008…
Yesterday Joe Biden said “>Obama could take your guns by executive order.
It’s funny how things change once a Democrat gets into office.
“What we’re proposing is not radical, it’s not taking away anyone’s gun rights,” Obama said
Source: Katie Pavlich Townhall, Obama at White House Press briefing March 28, 2013
What he means here is that, according to him and his Marxist friends it is not a radical plan but he thinks that only law-abiding citizens, those who have been determined by the Democratic Socialists of America government to be "law-abiding" i.e. not on the Homeland Security list of domestic terrorists, have a right to own some kinds of guns, but only those kinds approved by the government, after they have received a thorough background check to include psychological testing, an extensive training course and have registered their guns with the Federal government (so they may be confiscated whenever necessary) and have stored their guns in an approved facility which is not necessarily the owner's home but must be open to law enforcement inspection. And that about sums up Barack Hussein Obama's entire long term goal for Gun Control.

But what has Barack Hussein Obama said about guns over the years? When he first began his career in politics he joined the Socialist New Party in Chicago which aided his first election to the Illinois legislature. In the absence of scrutiny from the national media, Obama's views were far more direct and radical then they are today.
"I don't believe that people should be able to own guns."
Barak Obama, as quoted to John R. Lott, Jr., PhD, while both were working at the University of Chicago Law School in 1996. From the book "Debacle", by Grover G. Norquist and John R Lott, Jr., John Wiley & Sons, Inc.: Publisher
Principles that Obama supports on gun issues
  • Ban the sale or transfer of all forms of semi-automatic weapons.
  • Increase state restrictions on the purchase and possession of firearms.
  • Require manufacturers to provide child-safety locks with firearms.

“Obama is proposing to make it a felony for a gun owner whose firearm was stolen from his residence which causes harm to another person if that weapon was not securely stored in that home.

He’s proposing restricting gun purchases to one weapon a month and banning the sale of firearms at gun shows except for “antique” weapons. Obama is also proposing increasing the licensing fee to obtain a federal firearms license.

He’s proposing that all federally licensed gun dealers sell firearms in a storefront and not from their homes while banning their business from being within five miles of a school or a park. He’s also banning the sale of ‘junk” handguns like the popular Saturday Night Specials.”

"We're eliminating 17 specific assault weapons. There is no reason why anybody should need an assault weapon to protect themselves or their family. We're limiting handgun sales to one a month. We're calling for handgun registration. It's very hard right now to track whether or not a felon has turned in his weapons or if he has a FOID card because we don't know how many weapons he has purchased."

"I know that the NRA believes people should be unimpeded and unregulated on gun ownership. I disagree. I do not object to the lawful use and ownership of firearms, but I do think it is entirely appropriate for the state to monitor it. Too many of these guns end up in the hands of criminals even though they were originally purchased by people who did not have a felony. I'll continue to be in favor of handgun law registration requirements and licensing requirements for training."

"I would support banning the sale of ammunition for assault weapons and limiting the sale of ammunition for handguns."

"While a complete ban on handguns is not politically practicable, I believe reasonable restrictions on the sale and possession of handguns are necessary to protect the public safety. In the Illinois Senate last year, I supported a package of bills to limit individual Illinoisans to purchasing one handgun a month; require all promoters and sellers at firearms shows to carry a state license; allow civil liability for death or injuries caused by handguns; and require FOID applicants to apply in person. I would support similar efforts at the federal level, including retaining the Brady Law."

"National legislation will prevent other states' flawed concealed-weapons laws from threatening the safety of Illinois residents."

"Let’s be honest. Mr. Keyes does not believe in common gun control measures like the assault weapons bill. Mr. Keyes does not believe in any limits from what I can tell with respect to the possession of guns, including assault weapons that have only one purpose, to kill people. I think it is a scandal that this president did not authorize a renewal of the assault weapons ban."

"I believe in keeping guns out of our inner cities, and that our leaders must say so in the face of the gun manufacturers' lobby."
From "The Audacity of Hope" by Barack Obama, p.215 Oct 1, 2006

"I am consistently on record and will continue to be on record as opposing concealed carry."

"I think we have two conflicting traditions in this country. I think it’s important for us to recognize that we’ve got a tradition of handgun ownership and gun ownership generally. And a lot of law-abiding citizens use it for hunting, for sportsmanship, and for protecting their families. We also have a violence on the streets that is the result of illegal handgun usage. And so I think there is nothing wrong with a community saying we are going to take those illegal handguns off the streets. And cracking down on the various loopholes that exist in terms of background checks for children, the mentally ill. We can have reasonable, thoughtful gun control measure that I think respect the Second Amendment and people’s traditions."

"I am not in favor of concealed weapons. I think that creates a potential atmosphere where more innocent people could (get shot during) altercations."

Q: Is the D.C. law prohibiting ownership of handguns consistent with an individual’s right to bear arms?

A: "As a general principle, I believe that the Constitution confers an individual right to bear arms. But just because you have an individual right does not mean that the state or local government can’t constrain the exercise of that right, in the same way that we have a right to private property but local governments can establish zoning ordinances that determine how you can use it."

Q: But do you still favor the registration & licensing of guns?

A: "I think we can provide common-sense approaches to the issue of illegal guns that are ending up on the streets. We can make sure that criminals don’t have guns in their hands. We can make certain that those who are mentally deranged are not getting a hold of handguns. We can trace guns that have been used in crimes to unscrupulous gun dealers that may be selling to straw purchasers and dumping them on the streets."

Q. Do you support state legislation to:
a. ban the manufacture, sale and possession of handguns? Yes.
b. ban assault weapons? Yes.
c. mandatory waiting periods and background checks? Yes.

"I just want you to know that we are working on it. We have to go through a few processes, but under the radar."

"This is my last election. After my election I have more flexibility."
Barak Obama to Dmitri Medvedev, March 26, 2012

"So my belief is that, (A), we have to enforce the laws we've already got, make sure that we're keeping guns out of the hands of criminals, those who are mentally ill. We've done a much better job in terms of background checks, but we've got more to do when it comes to enforcement.

"But I also share your belief that weapons that were designed for soldiers in war theaters don't belong on our streets. And so what I'm trying to do is to get a broader conversation about how do we reduce the violence generally. Part of it is seeing if we can get an assault weapons ban reintroduced. But part of it is also looking at other sources of the violence. Because frankly, in my home town of Chicago, there's an awful lot of violence and they're not using AK-47s. They're using cheap hand guns."

Look, like the majority of Americans, I believe that the Second Amendment guarantees an individual right to bear arms.  This country has a strong tradition of gun ownership that’s been handed down from generation to generation.  Obviously across the country there are regional differences.  There are differences between how people feel in urban areas and rural areas.  And the fact is the vast majority of gun owners in America are responsible -- they buy their guns legally and they use them safely, whether for hunting or sport shooting, collection or protection.

Like most Americans, I believe the Second Amendment guarantees an individual right to bear arms. We have a strong tradition of gun ownership in this country, and the vast majority of gun owners act responsibly.

But I also believe most gun owners agree that we can respect the Second Amendment while keeping an irresponsible, law-breaking few from causing harm on a massive scale. That’s what these reforms are designed to do.

The plain truth of the matter is - Obama LIES. Obama has always LIED. Obama has been waiting patiently for some psycho to commit a tragedy such as the one at the Sandy Hook Elementary School so that he can make an unending, non-stop campaign to pass Gun Control legislation.
And Obama has the entire resources of the most powerful country in the world to use to get what he wants. All of those resources that he hasn't set aside for his monthly vacations.

Is Barack Obama exploiting the Children of Sandy Hook?---No for I feel he genuinely does not want to see another massacre like Sandy Hook this year or 30 years from now or any other time. Problem is some of the gun control proposals violate the right to bear arms and need to be examined or have a constitutional amendment. Senator Barbara Boxer's purposely would have banned the gun used in the shooting though.

Is Barack Obama a Dictator?----No not at all and he will respectfully leave office on January 20, 2017 and welcome whoever is elected in 2016 (Hopefully a Republican).

Is Barack Obama a Traitor?----Not at all other then to the infants murdered through abortion in the first 9 months. Other then that Obama is a very good leader even though I differ with his spending policies.

Is Barack Obama a homosexual?----Where in the world did you get that one?

Is Barack Obama an evil man?----Not at all and he is a good inspiration with his only immoral policy being abortion-infanticide. He is otherwise a great man.

    1. Anonymous, I got bored reading your rant when you called me a racist and a Klansman. Read through this blog and you'll see several complimentary stories on Black conservatives, i.e. Allen West, for one. You will also see in the left margin of this blog under Favorite Web Sites a link to Kevin Jackson – The Black Conservative. So much for the racist label. Secondly, if you look at the web site for the National Black Republican Association www.nbra.info/ you will see a story on the history of the KKK. It was started by the Democratic Party.
