House passes Spending Bill to continue Foreign Aid to Islamic countries that have attacked our Embassies..

From the Desk of:
Steve Elliott, Grassfire Nation

Dear Nelson,

It was as if nothing had happened! As U.S. embassies across the Middle East were under seige and we mourned the savage death of one of America's most celebrated diplomats, the House of Representatives passed a six-month federal-funding bill (H.J. Res. 117) that includes millions of dollars in aid to Libya and Egypt.

In their effort to get out of town as quickly as possible, our representatives
in Congress did absolutely nothing to prevent millions more taxpayer dollars from flowing into countries that openly and brazenly attack the United States and its citizens.

Many conservative leaders in Congress went on record saying they wanted the bill stripped of foreign aid to Libya and Egypt, where attacks and demonstrations on U.S. diplomatic offices have gone on since Tuesday. But when push came to shove, the continuing resolution passed by a 329-91 vote.

Now, H.J. Resolution 117 moves to the Senate, where it will be voted on late next week. What the House failed to do now becomes the responsibility of the Senate.

On Thursday, President Obama had this to say about Egypt, “I don’t think that we would consider them an ally, but we don’t consider them an enemy." While the State Department later corrected the President in yet another foreign-policy fail, many are asking why Egypt deserves one more dollar of U.S. taxpayer money, if even Mr. Obama is unsure about that nation's standing?

Nelson, you CAN make a difference! Grassfire Nation will present this petition to key members of the U.S. Senate before next week's vote. So we must hear from you right away! It's time to stop funding nations whose governments and people attack U.S. interests, storm our embassies chanting, "Death to America!" and kill our citizens.

Join with us and demand that both Kentucky senators CEASE AND DESIST sending your tax dollars to Libya and Egypt:

Thank you.

Postscript:
Another email just arrived today that reminded me of how much our country has done for Muslims. Makes me wonder if our government has its head buried in its ass. Here is the primary paragraph:
As if the U.S. were in the habit of bombing nations just to throw its weight around, or for the sheer joy of dominating and hurting others. In fact, of the last six wars in which the United States was involved (Kuwait, Bosnia, Kosovo, Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya), four were undertaken to rescue Muslims and the other two (Afghanistan and Iraq) had the side benefit of liberating Muslims -- to what end remains an open question.
