Is it really Islamophobia or are they really trying to kill us?

Another convert to Islam was arrested the other day for attempting to detonate a car bomb at an Armed Forces Recruiting Center in Catonsville, Maryland.  What is it about a so-called religion that proposes to be "a religion of peace" that attracts so many who convert to it to become terrorists? If these converts to Islam wanted to attack fellow Americans why did they first need to adopt Islam before doing so? This incident in Maryland follows the recent attempt by another Muslim tried to detonate a larger car bomb at a crowded Christmas Tree lighting ceremony in Portland, Oregon. This also follows a very long list of terrorist acts spread over two decades in America that all have a single common thread: everyone was committed by a Muslim. It does not matter that those who attempted to commit these acts of terrorism were unsuccessful or that they were intercepted in their plans by FBI anti-terrorism agents who provided them with fake bombs, it was the would-be Muslim terrorist who hatched the idea and had the desire to kill Americans on American soil.

Yet the so-called spokesmen for the Muslim community still fill the airwaves with accusations that people who speak unkindly about Muslims and Islam are simply Islamophobic, who fear Islam. Can it just be that it is they who are spreading the untruths? Is is really Islamophobia or are they really trying to kill us?

A Baltimore man was arrested Wednesday in connection with a plot to blow up an Armed Forces recruiting center in Catonsville, Md., a spokesperson for the U.S. Attorney's Office confirmed.

The man, identified by ABC News as Antonio Martinez, (who was a convert to Islam) aka Muhammad Hussain, planned to attack the center "with what he believed to be vehicle bomb," according to the spokesperson, Marcia Murphy.

OIC Secretary-General Warns of Western Plots against Islam

TEHRAN (FNA)- Secretary-General of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu said that the West has hatched plots to spread Islamophobia in a bid to block growing conversion to Islam, and demanded the Muslim nations to take collective action to defuse these plots.

Speaking in a meeting with Iran's Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki here in Tehran on Monday, Ihsanoglu cautioned that spreading "Islamophobia, insulting Islamic values and sparking and spreading hatred for Islam are high on the agenda of the West, and urged the entire Muslim states to take established, and institutionalized collective measures" to confront the western plots in this regard.

He further elaborated on the OIC's activities and plans to counter Islamophobia, insult to Islamic values and resolve Muslim issues such as Palestine, and called Iran's supports and activities in these grounds as "highly crucial".

The OIC chief also appreciated the Islamic Republic of Iran for its continued supports for the OIC and its valuable role in different OIC plans and programs.

Muslims tell West: 'respect Islam'

A large majority of Muslims say the best way for the West to improve relations with them is to "respect Islam," according to a new Gallup poll.

When asked what could improve relations, Muslims' most common reply was respect their religion. For 72 per cent, that meant not desecrating the Quran or Islam's religious symbols. More than half (52 per cent) felt the West could also show respect by treating Muslims fairly in policies that affect them.

The new Abu Dhabi Gallup Centre report calls on western governments to focus on the Middle East to improve relations with Muslims worldwide.

(AINA) -- Christian Copts worldwide were shocked and enraged at the use of live ammunition by Egyptian state security forces against unarmed Coptic protesters, causing the death of three Coptic young men. A four-year old child suffocated from tear gas thrown inside the chapel. Rights groups inside and outside of Egypt have condemned the use of excessive violence by security forces and the use of live ammunition against Coptic demonstrators.

Algeria to try four converts from Islam to Christianity for "illegally opening a place of worship"

Algiers - Algeria will put on trial four converts to Christianity from Sunday for “illegally opening a place of worship”, one of their lawyers told AFP.

“The defendants, who are between 35 and 45 years old, have been charged with setting up a Protestant church in the region without authorisation by authorities,” said lawyer Mohamed Ben Belkacem.

The trial will be held in Larbaa Nath Irathen, east of Algiers.

One of the accused has also been charged with illegally accommodating a French pastor who had travelled to Algeria to make a speech before members of the Christian community.

The trial was originally scheduled to open on October 10 but put off after the court insisted it needed witnesses to give evidence.

Under a 2006 Algerian law Muslims or non-Muslims can only practise their religion after authorities agree to a place of worship.

Over the past months several trials have opened in the north African country where Islam is the state religion for violation of Islamic precepts, notably involving converts to Christianity.

The Arab Ahlul Bayt News Agency reported, “The pilgrims chanted anti-US and anti-Zionist slogans during the ceremony, also attended by the Supreme Leader's representative for Hajj affairs, Hojatoleslam Ali Qazi-Asgar.

“God is the Greatest”, “Death to Israel” and “Death to America” were among slogans chanted by the masses in unison as they gathered in the Desert of Arafat near Mecca, where more than 2 million Muslims have gathered.

Qazi-Asgar read a message from the Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the leader of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, who told Muslims to engage in "struggle and resistance against the aggressions of the United States and the Zionist regime."

“Today the Zionist regime is no more the undefeatable monster of 30 years ago,” he said. ”The United States and the West are also no more the unquestionable decision-makers of the Middle East that they were two decades ago. Today the arrogant United States, the self-styled commandant of the Islamic region and the real sponsor of the Zionist regime, is bogged down in the quagmire of its own making in Afghanistan.”
He began his speech by saying that “the growing wave of Islamic awakening heralds a glorious future for the Muslim community…The enemy's extensive propaganda campaigns to promote Islamophobia are hasty attempts at sowing discord among Islamic faiths and fueling factional prejudices.”

Khamenei continued, “No virtue is better than rescuing nations from the demonic clutches of hegemonic powers, and no vice is worse than depending on and serving hegemonic powers," referring to the United States.
